Title: Facial masculinization? I'm curious.
Post by: JenJen2011 on October 20, 2011, 08:23:13 PM
I'm an MTF but I'm curious about this. Does facial masculinization surgery exist? Do many transmen get this done? Or are the effects from testosterone enough to not need it?

Please note: I have done zero research on this, hence why I'm asking. And I would prefer to read it directly from y'all rather than googling it, lol.

Thanks guys. ;)

It does exist and not many get it done.

I remember reading that one guy on here was having it done to not look quite as young.  I don't think it's done all that often, and I have never been able to find pictures or examples.

Thanks guys. I've always wondered how they make your jaw/chin wider. And do they create a more prominent brow bone? LOL. I probably sound silly. But I'm thinking they do just the opposite of what's done for FFS.

Most people get significant changes on T. I never heard of anyone getting a lot of things done. I remember the guy Lee mentioned. I think he only had one thing done, and and who knows. The maybe he would have had that surgery even if he was cis. The if you have a weak chin pre T you will still have a weak chin post T. Everything will just look more masculine.

Since T does not change your bone structure (unless started before female puberty) if someone is cursed with a feminine face he can get a jaw or chin implant. I don't think it's conventionally called "facial masculinization surgery" since the demand is not very high.
