I want to move at the start of next year because I'm rather isolated. I wanted to know where are the most trans friendly places? :D

Hi Fiona
Well I'm in Adelaide. I have girl friends in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Hobart, Brisbane, and no one has said anything bad about any of the cities. Australia is generally pretty laid back about such issues and we do have laws to protect us, unlike some other countries.

Probably the best place is where you can get a job.

Where are you now?

Hi Cindy.

I'm in Nambour, qld.  The thing is, if i don't move back to the coast, I'd like to move somewhere else. I'm not talking  about laws or serious stuff, I'm able to move soon and I'd like to go somewhere fresh.

I used to be on ->-bleeped-<- radio but never really hit it off with anyone there. I have a t-girl friend a few hours south of sydney.

I'd just like to be somewhere big where i can go out more. Even brisbane is starting to seem appealing but I've done it to death.

Hi Fiona,

Sydney has several girls who are at Susan's including Chloe and Catherine, both great friendly girls. Maybe pm them?

While I love Hobart, realistically I would have to say either Sydney or Melbourne would probably have the most resources.

I'm in Sydney, not yet living as a woman full-time.

I'd suggest Sydney or Melbourne if you're not interested in Brisbane. Both large cities with plenty of things to do and large enough to have sizeable progressive areas. In Sydney you could happily live in Darlinghurst, Paddington, Newtown, Glebe as these are all fairly progressive inner-city areas. That being said, you'd be able to live anywhere fairly comfortably, with only a few exceptions.

If you need advice on Sydney suburbs, their socio-economic composition and their transport, message me.

Thanks so much Caitlin, that is very helpful.

I'm in Geelong...Halfway between Melbourne and Torquay and if i want to go out in a dress I'll go to Melbourne.

IMO I dont think small towns are as accepting.I could be wrong tho

I'm going to Sydney in a few weeks for the first time to meet up with a GG I know, and his BF

If you head to Melbourne dont forget to switch your radio to JOY 94.9FM

Hi Fiona,

Sorry to weigh in so late. I've just seen this thread. I understand your feelings about TgR. It can be a bit 'finicky' at times, however some of the events Amanda posts are excellent in my books. The dinner engagements at the Taxi Club, Central Coast, and Glebe are a fabulous collective of women, to which you would be very welcomed. Even if you are just visiting, please let me know and I'll organise a welcoming committee for you. Newcastle hosts a regular Tuesday night coffee night and if that's not enough, Canberra is only 3 hours south and they have some incredible regular events.

There is a constant flow of girls from Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra through these various engagements and that doesn't include the smaller groups that get together on a regular basis.

For my money, Sydney has quite a bit of activity to speak of. I haven't included the range of activities the Gender Centre sponsor either. It would still be nice to get a "Susan's " thing happening (nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more) (Please rush me with your acceptances  :))

Having said all that about Sydney, I'd like to hear from someone in Melbourne, to relate their scene down there. It's always been a know fact that Melbourne is far more socially organised and responsive than Sydney. Whether that's true in a TG sense I'm not sure.

If you need more information, PM me at your convenience. In the meantime, be safe, well and happy
Lotsa huggs
Catherine
