NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) - A transgendered woman will spend at least fourteen years behind bars for murdering her lover in a fit of rage inside their bedroom in a Norristown house last year.
Shaking and sobbing uncontrollably, 41-year-old Asia Santana, also known as Tyrone Crawley, recounted for the court how she loved 29-year-old Eric Nevith but their five-year relationship was punctuated with arguments because he gave her HIV.
Ugh, it's scary to think that that could happen to you.
My first question concerning this case was if the punishment was commsurate with the crime. Next question was what was the specific charge; Manslaughter, First Degree Murder, Capital Murder, and third, did the fact Asia Santana was Transgedered affect the charge and sentence given.
To better answer these questions, I went back and found a series of articles covering this case;
