Managed to see the video on this side of the pond. Presumably, whatever it said, was deemed suitable for our sensitities, whatever they are.

The man from Family Research Council claimed that this child is suffering from a mental illness and the correct procedure is to give them treatment. He then makes claims about what that treatment is.

GID is a mental illness in that it is a condition or situation which causes mental distress.

The treatment for GID is to allow the sufferer to live according to their desired gender.

The FRC man may not like that. But that is the way it is.

Funny, I think the same thing about people who see gods that are not there and pray to them.

As usual, a representative from the Family Research Council is telling lies about the TLBG community.  That's no surprise.  What's doubly galling, however, is how this organization is still given national public exposure on news networks (and not only Fox) even though the Southern Policy Law Center has designated them as an anti-gay hate group.

QuoteHeaded since 2003 by former Louisiana State Rep. Tony Perkins, the FRC has been a font of anti-gay propaganda throughout its history. It relies on the work of Robert Knight, who also worked at Concerned Women for America but now is at Coral Ridge Ministries (see above for both), along with that of FRC senior research fellows Tim Dailey (hired in 1999) and Peter Sprigg (2001). Both Dailey and Sprigg have pushed false accusations linking gay men to pedophilia: Sprigg has written that most men who engage in same-sex child molestation "identify themselves as homosexual or bisexual," and Dailey and Sprigg devoted an entire chapter of their 2004 book Getting It Straight to similar material. The men claimed that "homosexuals are overrepresented in child sex offenses" and similarly asserted that "homosexuals are attracted in inordinate numbers to boys."

I think that this fact should be publicized every time the FRC or one of its propagandists appear in print.  Allowing them to comment on TBLG issues is like inviting the KKK to comment on African-American issues on a national news channel.
