Today I finally decided to tell my mom I am for sure FTM. (I told her a while ago and quickly took it back. And have basically been struggling with things ever since) I am lucky enough to have an amazing fiancee who has switched pronouns/names for me and is being 2000% supportive. But I needed to tell my mom because 1. She is my best friend. 2. She is the only one who could help me transition. I'm almost 20 but I live with her and go to school full time so I don't work.
Basically I wrote her a LONG letter. She wasn't around me the rest of the day because I was in my room. But at night she came in and kneeled in front of me. She told me this changes nothing. She always knew! (I remember a long time ago she asked me if I was like Chaz -_-) And she would always joke I was the son she never had. She said that she is going to try really hard to get me on her insurance now and we are going to find a doctor and start the transition! I am SO excited! I thought it would be years before this happened and now I can start my life...It's amazing. I know I'll have support from my sis and my grandma...So basically everyone on this Earth that matters to me will accept me.
That is awesome! Congratulations.
Congrats!!!
Thank you so much! LOL She even said I can stop shaving and stuff.
;D Thats great new man. So happy for you taking that step and it going so well.

It's weird that you are 20 and needed her permission for that.
Oh wow I'm so happy for you.
Awesome. Glad to hear it.
Congrats! I am glad you have support.
That is great! Always nice to have family support
As for insurance -- if your in the USA -- federal mandate -- your mom can cover you until age 26 unless you are employed and your employer offers insurance
That's awesome! I started when I was 19 as well. :)

Aww thanks Nick.
That is all round awesome, Nick! Everything goes way smoother when you have loved ones on board, even the 'bad' stuff. :)

DEFINITELY agree with you on that. I figure the "bad" stuff never really goes away. T and surgery aren't magic wands in a sense that make everything go away lol
That's honestly why I think I am ready for this. The fact that I can accept all the "bad" and learn from it. Knowing that everyone is on board is just a very huge plus!
Nick, that's epic! The "bad" stuff might never go away, but when you've got family on your side, it gets a whole lot easier. Congrats, man! ;D
