Overall the same, though some seem to have become competitive in ways.

All women I've told don't treat me any different than they did before, but I attribute that to picking my friends very very carefully so I only have really awesome ones.
My ex has expressed she's "worried" that I'll be a prettier woman than her though, which I found quite amusing.

But other than that, all's the same I think.

They all love me and use female pronouns.

Oh --- and they always go on about how I'm prettier than most cis girls and how they're jealous.
I got no clue what they're talking about.

I was a gay boy. So I've always been "one of the girls".

My coworkers not so much...some of them saw me as Elle, some didn't.

They all thought I was super femme lookin.

My mother, who obviously has known me the longest :), first said that she will support me in everything I do in life unless it has to do with hate. Than she challenged me in very subtle and intelligent ways. And than she never called me by my old name and has never said the wrong pronom and is very proud of her daughter.
She has been totally amazing! And a great thing is that she is a midwife and knows everything about vaginas which will become very practical next spring...
With my female friends it has been all good. I became one of the girls in a matter of days and this regardless of the fact that I still don´t pass.
I am very lucky but it is good to remember that it doesen´t always have to be socially a nightmare to transition.

I only really had 2 very close female friendswhen i started my transition, one became very cold towards me. The other became more friednly until a certain drunken night where her boyfriend made a pass at me and certain things were done that ruined the friendship (id say this was about 75% his fault nd about 25% mine).

Now however ive made new friends who treat me as one of the girls!

+1 including female relatives. The only thing is that they're always trying to touch my breasts and ask me why they look bigger over time. Lol.

Kia Ora Elle,

::) You bring up an interesting point...Why is it that 'some' women treat openly gay men as one of the girls ?

::) Mind you even though I was never part of the gay community nor did I ever consider myself 'gay', for the most part I was quite often treated like 'one of the girls' by many of the girls I knew...Perhaps intuition had something to do with it...

Kia Ora JenJen,

::) A good point but I think I'll leave that for someone else to do....Perhaps Elle or yourself might like to...

Yeah, I feel more sisterly bonding with my female friends, but I don't think I will quite ever acheive that same type of closeness two biological females can have because of their shared female childhood memories, and especially the babies/periods things...

MY sister has embraced me wholly, though, because she has always wanted a sister since in our family, she was the only girl with 4 boys. :)

I talked with my co-worker about my tender nipples the other day... when she launched into her own experiences about when her period started, I couldn't really contribute or bond with her by offering my own experiences. :(

Really? I guess I just have ignorant friends & family because they all treat me like a guy still. I'm about 4 months into my transition so maybe i'm asking for too much too soon?  :icon_shrug_no:
