Has anyone ever had a dentist numb their upper lip just before going to electrolysis?

I tried asking my doctor and the GP practice if they would do that for me and the answer was 'No'.

However, what I did end up with was a prescription for the large tubes of EMLA cream — which contains lidocaine — and combined with a codeine-based painkiller (tablet) that did the job for me, including for the dozen or more genital electrolysis sessions I had prior to surgery.

That's not to say that there was still pain and some gritting of teeth, but it was at least bearable. And also, a level of pain which I became accustomed to over time.

With the EMLA, I found that repeated applications over a period of about 90 minutes before the session seemed to work the best.

Sorry if that's not exactly what you asked, but I thought I'd just put that out there as an alternative if your dentist is as helpful as my doctor was.

Yes, I did have a dentist do this very thing.  My electro operator worked out of a dental office.  So for the first couple of times I had my upper lip cleared, I had shots. It was so worth it.

Not a dentist

The most enjoyable Electrolysis I had (if the word enjoyable can be used) is a month after FFS, when my top and bottom lips where still numb, I didn't feel a thing!

However prior to that I used to use EMLA cream to help with the pain.

I'm thinking of getting my upper lip done, it's got about the same level of hair as the average natal girl who gets electro done has, fine but pigmented, will it still hurt enough to bother with pain control or should it not be that bad seeing as the hair is no where near terminal?

Same question but for vellus hairs that grow a bit long over my face, I started HRT just as my facial hair was showing signs of comming and HRT knocked it back down to passable with no need for daily removal, I get rid of the upper lip hair every week or two though, I'd just like to not have to care about it.
