Title: Hi! I'm totally awesome!
Post by: Lone Cypress on November 23, 2011, 05:07:22 PM
I'm a late 20's transitioner that lives full time. I struggle with some anxiety... Okay, I struggle with a ton of anxiety but I refuse to get medicated.

Mainly I'm coming here to kind of lurk around, check out what the rest of the trans women on the internet are doing, maybe pop in with a funny quip once in a while.

:-*

Hi!

While I'll agree that "tranquilizer" type anxiety medicine is fairly intense.  They also often prescribe those on an as needed basis.  The core medicine is now just a normal anti-depressant.

Other than the weight gain, I can't really knock the anti-depressant.  It really has helped with my general anxiety levels and as a plus I've not really had to deal with being in the really dark places lately.

I do occasionally have to take the others and they are strong enough that I avoid it when I can, but I'd rather feel a bit dissociated than shaking all over with my heart racing and my mind crippled in an endless loop.

I also found that once I was fully out and started RLT that it went DOWN because I wasn't having to hide anymore.

That first part was worse than the actual anxiety for me. Ugh.

My anxiety went down with the RLT too. It feels good to give people a more accurate depiction of yourself.

And one important thing, do not reveal yourself as a conservative or else you will be flame right and left.

Welcome, my arboreal sister. When choosing my name, I almost selected Willow as my middle name. I went with Anne instead.

Have fun lurking!
