Well, a little about me I guess. I'm not transgendered, but the girlfriend of a recently-out-of-the-closet (to close friends) transgender woman. It came as a bit of a shock I must admit, because I've never known anyone that was transgendered, but anyway. I'm doing my best to be as supportive as possible to her, which some days seems a bit tougher than it should be since we're in a long distance relationship (though hopefully only until next summer - we're trying to get together a plan for me to move but visas seem to be a bit of a complicated mess so far). Either way, last time I was down for a visit a few weeks ago she came out to me. Still kind of trying to adjust, it's a lot to digest but so far I think I'm doing ok :). My SO had told me to register here and pointed out that there's a significant other's section to the forum (which is mainly why I joined), which I'll probably end up lurking around for a while.
Anyway, you all seem like an awesome bunch of people! Nice to meet you :)

Thanks! :) I'm sure it's an incredible relief to her, she said after she told me that either I'd be cool with it or I'd just go back home after my trip and that'd be the end of that, thankfully though I'm one of the most open minded people I know. It's going to be a rough road for both of us I'm sure (moreso for her) but I've already decided I'm not going anywhere and going to support her 100% :)

Thanks! I'm not going to limit myself to one section of the forum, I've already browsed a few of the other subforums and learned quite a lot. I'm so glad my SO found this site and led me to it :) Hugs right back at you.

Thanks Felix, I'll be sure to check those links out :) Doing the best I can to be supportive and understanding, just need to do a loooot of reading because I'm going to be honest, I really don't know a whole lot about any of this. Though I suppose that's a good thing I found this place, haha :)
