My SRS is scheduled for July of 2012. Do i need FFS? i feel like i pass fairly well but then again this is all friends and people i know reassuring me and might not be wanting to hurt me.
pick me apart tell me my weakness i need to know...
Weight before was 284 weight now 201 and loosing fast on track for 179 by july.
Yes.
Stuff like forehead re-contouring and feminizing rhinoplasty, yes.
The lower half of your face doesn't look male to me.
Honestly I'd say all you need is a nose job! You look great though! ;)
As you lose more and more weight your jaw is going to become more and more noticeable. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but it may be an issue at that time. As for needing FFS, generally speaking, I'd tend to say so. Though I also think most people who think they don't need any work are in a state of denial about things. That or they really don't care how people perceive them and are okay living a little on the wrong (from my point of view obviously) side of andro.
Kudos on the weight loss. I know exactly what kind of pain it can be trying to shed the weight; I'm down 12~ pounds a little over a month now. Skinny thoughts taste so good, but sometimes I just can't resist the chocolate. Oh dear god the chocolate. God damn these hormones. Why? Why must you make chocolate so incredibly, irresistibly tasty.
Ugh, now I'm eating chocolate, this is terrible. Terribly delicious that is. Ugh.

DAMN U CHOCOLATE!! :icon_shakefist:
the partygirl pix shows you look fine while the big now pix is too distorted by wideangle lens.
just lose the weight and use a little less black round the eyes and little more blusher to define your cheeks and you'll make a lovely woman.
bone structure is fine and will show nicely once some fat comes off.
the big blonde hair will make everyone study you more than shorter hair.
the hormones and surgery have a look more work to do yet too.
I'd say a nose job and forehead re-contouring. Other than that you look great!

Forehead recontouring? How can you tell?

Also most men lets their jaws hang a little slackly giving them a serious, long face. Keep your teeth together to lift your jaw up and round out your face. Learn to have a slight smile all the time to plump out your cheeks. After a week or so it becomes fairly permanent as the muscles settle in.
lol this happens to me when I'm not smiling, regardless of whether teeth are together or not. It's annoying.
I'd say yes unless you want to wear makeup all the time.
Uh, ask that question after you leave the overweight area. I absolutely can't say right now. Keep working on it.
Though you're just 201, which is too much, but not all that fat. Your face looks like you weight about 300 lbs. Maybe it's a "scar" that will stay. If so, you might need a surgery anyway if you want to look good someday. But again, get to a healthy weight, then you can decide.
Yep, definitely try to lose more weight, it does show a lot in your face. Also, I'd not wear that style of wig, try something a bit shorter and more appropriate for your age and face and perhaps a darker color. I'd also go easier on the eye makeup, it makes your eyes look too sunken to me and work on your eyebrows a bit. After all that, it'd be easier to decide how much ffs would be needed.
And give the hormones more time too. I know it took several years before my facial features changed enough to really show a more feminine appearance and even now I still feel I could use some work, mostly nose and brow ridge for me. And take a few side pics too, that typically shows more than a straight on pic does.

Maybe a lighter eye shadow to bring the eyes forward and remove the sunken look?
I use a little light concealer in the inside corners of my eyes along the nose, it helps to bring that area out a bit too.
Thank you all so much for the comments! the big face shot is oct 1st ive lost about 25lbs since that one the thanksgiving one is my most
current. I am having my electorlysis lady shape and thin brows so they are getting better. My natural hair color is "Dishwater blonde". The
finnisteraide has worked magic but after 12 months i think it will do alot more. Seems like Nose/forehead are most common consensus.
I will contact dr pichet this afternoon and see if he might offer a "Package discount" though i doubt it
http://www.bangkokplasticsurgery.com/services.html (http://www.bangkokplasticsurgery.com/services.html) .i walk 4 miles/day and eat a 900
calorie a day diet, along with supplements. i will take a new faceshot tonight for comparison. One last thing not sure how true it is but i was
told i should shave my head and it will grow back in fuller now that i am on the finnisteraide. This was actually told to me by my stylist and
goes against everything i have heard before.
Please don't shave your head. That is a myth. =p
honest jealousy of your eye make up
I'd say yes, you need FFS; forehead, nose, and maybe a lip lift.

* Gasp * 900-calorie a day!?! How can you have energy at all!?
Guess all my fat reserves are keeping me going...........
900 calories of bulky fibre and vitamin pills is plenty to keep the belly happy and body healthy as after all al the fat is concentrated liquid calories?
here is my almost daily reutine.
1 breakfast - apple or bannana
2 lunch - 2 fresca tacos from taco bell - 300 calories
3 snack - baby carrots or celeroy
4 supper - wendy's cearsar side salad no cheese half dressing packet -100 calories
- wendy's grilled chicken sandwhich - no bread no mayo just chicken and letuce -300 calories
5 midnight or late snack - 48 peanuts 120 calories
i have stuck religiously to this for almost 12 months on sundays i will splurge a little but on that day i try to go easy or eliminate breads completly. I walk everyday if it is raining or really cold i just walk in circles around my garage (4 car so plenty of room).
i take 2000mg of vitamin D 2000mg of vitamin C and 1000mg of nordiac fish oil daily.
i quit smoking 5 years ago but due to stress of divorce i started again a couple of weeks ago and plan to be stopping really soon.
Brutally honest...
No you don't "need" but I can see where some fine-tuning could help.
Primarily, smoothing the kinks in the nose and possibly lifting the lip a little (and/or plumping upper lip just a touch.)
Just don't get too much work done, you don't want to look like you're "reconstructed from scratch" do you?
I mentioned in an earlier thread and I still have the same type of advice.
I believe you should get rid of that blond wig and try something shorter and darker. Blond wigs really make a fake wig look fake and the style doesn't go with your facial shape.
I agree with Annah,
Axelle

That has been proven false. So please don't do that!

Dr Pichet has a bad, bad reputation on this site.
Use the 'search' box and read...a couple of years ago his nickname was 'The Bangkok Butcher'.
I'm usually pretty critical (and always judging against what truly is considered beautiful in a modern day young or older woman) but I'd truly say you may not need much work done, if any. You do have an image that makes up a good portion of the natal females out there who have extra weight and are over 30 years of age. As it is, you seem to have very soft, rosy look and I do see many women on the streets every day who look like this. Now, as said above, loosing weight may hinder or help your look from here - it seems many of the more masculine looking older women out there look much more female with added weight and rosy features. Loosing weight may bring more attention to a bulbous-ish nose or a thick-set jaw line. There are a lot of relative things and for now, I dunno what to suggest apart from trying non-surgical things like weight loss or a longer HRT duration, to see what happens there first.
P.S. I saw your "Queen'd up" image on another thread, and if it helps any, I think you make a super attractive Drag-ish model. You truly look female enough to the point beauty and being female shines through, and I would say both your features and clothing style looks more like a natal woman who is dabbing in Drag culture, rather than you actually being a man. I do think a drag-inspired Queen look truly highlights your appearance though, and works best with your features. Even when not inspired by that culture, things to remember are that, like Drag clothing, lots of accessories, very volumous, layered clothing, and large hairstyles can really soften a look.
In my personal opinion I don't think all of that is necessary. I don't know if maybe its because you girls ARE transsexual that you girls are so picky about what a female should be. Just because she has a couple of masculine characteristics doesn't mean bash her on them. I've been noticing that when you girls critique one another its very seldom that you compliment the features that make you feminine because you are so busy pointing out and criticizing the male ones. Masculine characteristics can be found in almost every cis female. What are you hoping to be models? I thought the whole point of transitioning was to feel complete as female not perfect looking but female. I mean perfections not achievable because nobody is perfect. I don't understand?. My wife is mtf and she is beautiful and when she posted her pics the same thing happened and yet I've seen her pass in person without changing the things that were complained about. I guess what I really mean to say is that you don't have to be gorgeous to be a woman you just have to be you and if you are happy with the way you look then what people say shouldn't matter. but in all honesty Mandy I think you look fine and want to tell you congratulations on the weight loss! You go girl!!!

Reread the title of the thread...
I didn't mean in regards to this thread alone I meant it in a more general manner but I apologize if there is any confusion.
If we can be brutally honest about the bad characteristics why can't we be brutally honest about the good ones as well????

We can. But this particular thread requested brutal honesty in regards to negative attributes, thus I see no basis for suggesting the comments need to be more positive in nature.
Going back on topic, to the OP, I agree with the comments regarding the wig and its placement. As per FFS, yes; nose and forehead.
The ones we love and love us sometimes are not objective when helping with us. Self image is a an important aspect of life for any natal man, women, mtf, ftm,?t?. For example the 89lb 5"5 20yr whom still thinks she is fat obviously has a low self image. When i am out in public and i hear other people laughing i dont want to slink down and pray that it's not me they are laughing at. I just want to live my life in peace. Now as a 5"7 300+lb male i still got laughs all the time, my weight was by choice(ie LAZY) and couldve been changed at any time. I just did not have the want to do it. My wife my friends and my family have all been sacrificed in the last 6 months to get me to where i am today. My son whom came out to me that he was gay after i told him about myself is my only real support group. I asked for and do want Brutal Honesty. For no other reason than to help me see my own faults. I am on such a high right now when i look in the mirror i see the woman i always should have been. I know others do not. That is why i asked this. It seems the randiance from my own light is blinding me to the obvious.
I'll try to be the most honest here:
It's hard to say much about your face because it seems you have a lot of extra fat hiding your jawline, so it's really hard to tell whats underneath. But I definitely think forehead surgery and nose surgery would help passing. The wig really doesn't suit your face shape at all, i would immediately change that. I would also recommend some weight loss but it seems you're already doing that, so keep it up.

I think you need to reread the thread title
i hate to be the bearer of bad news but that wig looks like a theater wig. It looks very artificial. I looked at the specs and it isn't a lace front nor is it monofilament. You should at least look for a Monofilament build. That's the type of wig that doesn't give it an artificial shine.
Then I looked at the price of the wig. At 39 dollars it is actually a lesser quality than a theater wig. The look is also exactly the same but a different color.
The darker color will look better on you but the wig looks very artificial. People are going to spot it as a wig instantly.
Sorry to be a bearer of bad news :(
If you need help in choosing a wig that would fit you best, be of good quality and affordable, please pm me.
Just to make Annah point over - she did all the sorry-and-excuse-me-bits... thank you.
The hair-line is just too high on that 'weave' (wig) it looks too much like a bald forehead underneath, a dead give away too.
I know the truth so often hurts... so sorry hon... :-)

I do think this is a big improvement. Voice, at this point, is going to be the make or break. FFS would be a good idea, but if I were you, I would make my voice as perfect as humanly possible.
Well honestly you hair dose look like a wig but that's not an obvious giveaway because their are many women who wear wigs for various reasons.
Overall your facial bone structure isn't actually too bad.
Their are other factors whitch can't be guaged based on these photos alone, Body shape and frame + voice
If you've trained your voice well I could imagine you passing pretty easily.
