Title: Is there any cases of someone post-op growing their boobs back
Post by: Father Way on December 07, 2011, 04:38:42 PM
after stop taking t for a long time? I hadn't take it almost a year now (planning to take it when I can afford) and have recently noticed a change on my left side of my chest.  The flesh used to be very thin but it got thicker. Certainly not muscles. I haven't working out last 5months.. but lost about 10lbs and it's still coming off only cause my mom don't let me eat my favorite foods

I don't know what's happening and feel bad..

what's likely happening is that your fat distribution is changing back to the female distribution pattern, thus there's fat redistributing to your chest area. I don't know if there's a lot you can do about it other than going back on T, unfortunately. Working out might help somewhat as well.

I heard that it can grow back if you're not on T or hormone blockers.

Yeah...I'm assuming that you must've paid for this surgery, so why can't you pay for T now?
Either way, it seems like an awful waste to have your chest grow back, even if you found away around paying out of pocket for top surgery. =/

Even cis guys can grow boobs if they have high estrogen or whatever. If my T was that expensive that I had to stop taking it I would shop around, don't know if that's an option for you.

People's financial situations can change very quickly.  Cut him some slack.

To the OP:  I think there could be several factors.  Low T, high(er) estrogen, weight gain.  Perhaps work on losing excess fat, building muscle, and getting on T when/if you can.

Adio-

I'm asking my previous question more out of curiosity than to be critical by the way.
But alright.

Once you had a mastectomy only VERY few estrogen receptors will be left in the breast area.
I understand there be NO WAY ever your breasts will really grow back. They can't.

Same would happen to MtFs that go for breast reduction when e.g. de-transitioning - that's how I happen to learn about it.

Guys (male models) have silicone male breast-implants, so a bit of padding (in the right place?) could be just fine...

My 2 cents,
Axélle

You welcome dude and cheer up, don't let others make you feel a failure. I'm sure you not.
You just have to start learning that dudes also have a tough life and need to learn to bite the bullet.

As in "boys don't cry" - it's a cultural thing and we all are part of that culture and so can't really jump off that bus.

I wish you strength,
Axélle

emil: I wish this was just a fat distribution.

skakid: that's what I've heard..

sharky: I agree and I'm trying to talk to mom..

adio: thank you. I think its what's been said. I should get on T.

axelle: your words cheer me up thanks alot!

No.  Fat may redistribute to that area, but the breast tissue (what is removed during top surgery) will not.

He is right. Regardless of hormone levels, the actual breast tissue itself won't come back.

As for fat redistribution, it probably won't be too noticeable. It would be similar to when a cis-guy has "moobs" whether from being overweight or from gynecomastia. Start working out, and/or see if you can either find a way to pay for T yourself or convince your parents to help you out so you can start taking T. If you can't pay for it yourself, find out exactly why your parents don't want to pay for it, then come up with a persuasive argument (ha, I feel like I'm an English teacher giving an assignment for a persuasive paper! ).

And this has already been said but I just wanted to say that you're not a failure. Don't start thinking of yourself in that way, it can really mess up your self esteem.
