I'm an avid fan of South Park and I've seen every episode. What a great show!
What I'm wondering is, what do you guys think about Mr./Mrs. Garrison from South Park. He's a teacher who went from closet homosexual male, to homosexual male, then to translady, then back to homosexual male. I mean, his story is pretty funny, but what do you guys think about it? Is it offensive?
I can definitely see how people could find it offensive. But I don't mind it. I find the way South Park goes about their jokes and does there satire absolutely hilarious.
Never fails to make me laugh.
The ->-bleeped-<-ing tits, oh my god.
I try not to be offended.
Colonel Gathers from the Venture Brothers is a far funnier trans character though. I want a Sphinx spinoff with him and Shore Leave as main characters.

Hahah true.
Another one of my favorites is Alice from SuperJail, but not a lot of people know about that show.

I've heard about the show but I haven't watched it and don't know anything about it. Is it good?
Its a bit disturbed, but what good shows aren't? :D
I like it.
I might check it out sometime then. Thanks!
For me it kinda goes under the radar...As in ive been watching the show too long to care or be offended, and I know the show's makers tend to be focused on criticizing the excesses of society and maybe making fun of stereotypes by showing how rediculous they are.
So yea, I guess Mr. Garrison gets a free pass from me. Even his gay side is so wacky that no one would ever think to consider it a realistic interpretation of gay man.
The Garrison character doesn't really bother me mainly because s/he IS on South Park. That show has a reputation for taking anything and everything beyond the bounds of good taste. Definitely not something to watch if you are easily offended. *shrug* I could do without Mr. Hanky, though. I've never understood poo humor.
As for Superjail and Venture Brothers, I find them difficult to watch from a visual standpoint. The animation gives me headaches. Don't know why, it just does.
If South Park wasn't being offensive, they'd need to call an emergency board meeting :).
I love southpark. Trey Parker can do no wrong by me.
I'm no expert on South Park. Rarely watch it, but it is quite funny.
In the case of the teacher, what I find especially funny is that the children don't seem bothered at all.
Reminds me of an episode where they tried a take off of Lord of the Rings, with, I think Cartman, playing Gandalf and the sensitive boy, (is it Butters?), playing Gollum. The adults became convinced kids had actually seen a porno movie and rushed to explain sex to them. The look on those kids faces should have been framed.
I find South Park hilarious most of the time and it is meant to be somewhat offensive to illustrate a point. I think if someone is offended by it they take things way too seriously and maybe they should have a long, hard look at themselves.

I think it's funny because it's true.
