Title: "Styles" of binding?
Post by: Julian on December 17, 2011, 12:19:26 PM
One major thing I've noticed about my Underworks double-front, which makes me wear it less often than I'd like, is its tendency to sort of squish me into a sausage shape. Not just the mono-boob effect, but all down my torso. I wear a pretty bind-y sports bra under it to keep things in place, but it squishes everything, boobs and belly fat, into the middle. I realize that this can be partially solved by wearing a shorter binder, but my question is whether there are any binders that help avoid this in the chest area. Are there any binders that squeeze less indiscriminately and have more of a flattening than just a compressing effect? I hope I've made myself somewhat clear.

I'm not sure about other binders, but I had the same problem, so I stopped wearing a binder. Have you tried pushing out towards the sides of your body to arrange them?

My boyfriend has a larger chest and he wears binders made by a Dutch tailor, he used to have the same problem but I feel it's gotten less. I do know he needed to reposition everything a few times a day.

I don't how big your chest is or what your figure is, but I had the same problem with my old underworks binders. I ended up looking like a lumpy sausage roll. Apparently the T-kingdom binders are not exactly popular with most folks, but they work for me pretty well. I get standard flat male chest and while it tends to mold my curves a little (extreme hourglass here), it doesn't push the fat directly into my stomach. I still have slight curves, but nothing a shirt won't hide. I also have a pretty short torso though, and I have been told that makes the difference with that particular binder brand.
Before that one, I was using sports bras and the tops of control top tights as a makeshift binder.

Of course, this is only in my own experience.

My moobs are about a 34C in US size and I had the weird sausage issue with my Underworks tri-top until I learned how to raise and push my stuff apart until I had a nice buff pecs appearance.  Yes, I have to re-position if I've been really active, but normal out-and-about everything stays in place.

I'm a 32-34DD(D). I've got an odd figure. I'm big and broad-shouldered, but also pretty bony, so big buff 'pecs' look odd since I don't have any muscle. I think I just got a bad body for binding. I've tried up-and-out, but it still looks like boobs to me. My partner says I could pass for a 'chesty' guy like that, but I can't help seeing boobs.

Since I posted this I found out that I'm probably getting top surgery in a few months, so it's probably not the best time to invest in a new binder, especially anything more expensive than Underworks. Guess I'm stuck in bras until then.

Thank you for all the responses, though. <3 Maybe someone else will be helped by this thread.
