It's going good thank you Devlyn. I took off the ticker factory for privacy reasons. Some one on this forum used my problem to insult me. :'(

Good luck fiona. I like alcohol, but it can get out of control like anything else, and your trying to get a handle on something you feel is detrimental to your life should not ever be used against you. I agree, stay tough and don't let anybody keep you down.

Your doing great Fionabell. Don't let fools insult you. You are showing you have courage and strength, while anyone using your desire to control alcohol consumption as an insult  just show they are jerks of the first order.

Hugs

I'm glad to hear you're doing well. Remember, no one can insult you unless you let it get to you. If it happened through the forum, you should report that person to the Moderators. Hugs, Devlyn

Hi Fiona

I agree with Cindy's comment. I gave up alcohol about 15 years ago as I decided I wanted another life not something that was looked at through the haze of the morning after. There was a whole new life waiting for me without alcohol - I decided to spend what I spent on alcohol on the necessities of life (skirts, underwear, tops, shoes, dresses, make up etc) I guess this was my new life.

Do I miss it - no. Do I like my new life - oh yeah baby (sorry Austin).

Don't let the opinions of the minority spoil it for you.

Hugs

Melissa

good girl!
I know something of addictions (not alcohol but tobacco and bulimic behaviours lately) to know it's very hard to quit and you must be proud of going on without alcohol!

No Devlyn,

It's new years day and I didn't drink last night so feeling healthy. I can't seem to  go for a my daily running though. never mind I've been training hard lately so a day off is OK.

If you're trying not to drink, forgive yourself any other lapse on holidays. Be really proud you didn't drink.

Smoking is the hardest thing for me. I'm not exactly trying to quit, but I'm trying to smoke as little as possible. I'm not getting any younger, and I really want my top surgery to go well. I'm pretty sure I'll smoke at least a whole cigarette today before the night is out, though. :P

I try to tell people that if they have a real problem they need real help, a ticker or a diary ain't going to be enough, particularly when they relapse - and most people relapse a couple of time before they are in the clear, and that's very, very hard on them.  At that, even the best programs have fairly low success rates.

Anyway, she has not posted since Jan 5.
