Title: Falsies and attention
Post by: MsDazzler on December 24, 2011, 03:32:31 PM
Okay, so I totally love wearing falsies - I have all differnet kinds: fanned out, angled, gem-studded, totally thick, fine ends, etc... My own eyelashes are sadly thin and short, so plumping them with mascara does not really work as well as wearing falsies.

People say I have beautiful eyes (probably because I am Asian and have slanted eyes   :P ) so I try to play that feature up all the time. Whenever I wear falsies, I instantly attract a lot of attention, especially at the bars.

What's your take on falsies? Can you get away with wearing them in daytime? Of course I would not wear this kind (pictured below) during the daytime, but what bout the ordinary falsies?

my eyelashes are too long for em. I tried to wear some for Halloween in 2010 but they ended up looking like a mutated form of Lady Gaga's lashes.

I buy the maybelline mega lash mascara and that works for me. If i wanna get fancy, ill put some glitter on the lashes after the mascara.

If I could actually put them on, I would wear them... But I would wear natural ones and nothing over the top.

Unless it was for a drag act or something. But I make a distinction between my daytime and nighttime look. It's not appropriote for daytime IMHO. I use drag queen tricks to emphasis my natural femininity. But I wouldn't wear them unless I was going to a gay bar and I am kinda losin interest in gay bars and more into straight bars.

Like back in 2007, I met this pre transition transsexual at  the mall in Pleasentown. She kept talkin to me about her transition(since I was a gay boy) and she had these huge falsies on which with the beanie and tshirt she was wearing...Looked a bit off. It was more draggy and less Zooey. I even asked her, "wtf?"

With my eyesight they would probably end up in the middle of my forehead.  I have enough trouble with eyeliner, so the thought of glue scares me.
I use the Maybelline mega lash mascara too Annah, and find it does a pretty good job.

lol, the glue is designed to be gently sticky  . I pull them off all the times and my eyelashes are fine. Just peel them off gradually.

Seriously, no one else here has ever tried falsies? Oh come on, they totally rock!

And isn't falsies a ritual thing that every woman has gone through? lol

I feel complete with my falsies on. Easy to put on and take off.  I always get complimented by GG's when I go out and/or they tell me that they want me to teach them how to do their eye make up. LOL.

I don't wear lashes that are too long.  I've always paid attention to womens eyes.  It says a lot about them.

In the pic below I just try for my falsies to give my eyes a better shape, and a little sexier...

I've never tried them, but I have been rather curious to  :)  I think I'd just want to do the natural looking kind

As it is very tricky for me to wear falsies, I just tried it once about 7 years ago.

Practically, as I am a kind of crossdresser, I sometimes wear mascara. Some people notice my wearing mascara, but others do not. Falsies are too obvious.

Of course, by wearing falsies, it is far more easier to pass. But, again, it is too tricky to wear.

Thanks! They are 1/2" in length and use mascara to thicken them.

You shouldn't be surprised. The makeup section here is virtually empty...along with the fashion section. I am just saying...they got video games & rpgs to play. hahahaha

I have a friend who has used falsies. She was absolutely in love with them. I, however, don't really have a need for them. I have been told many times that I have extremely full and long lashes. And they only get better with mascara. :)

I use them when I am going out on a Industrial club or similar. Otherwise nope!

And to put them on is making me mad most of the time :P. I can NEVER get them right without a fight first!

I wore them a lot when i identified as GQ but I haven't put on a pair in forever.
I love the look of them.

I also feel somewhat superior because i know how to put them on, including indivdual lashes.:)
lol jk, I'm just good with my hands I guess.

Buuuut, Im looking into getting eyelash extensions again, they're great.
They help me pass a lot more.

I like wearing false lashes. My natural lashes are not long enough so mascara won't do any good
Applying false lashes can be a pain in the ass. I had eyelash extensions before but it didn't really help much
I still have to use mascara and the effect still can't compared to false lashes
I do wear false lashes during the day, but the thin one so it looks more natural :)
Like seriously girls, false lashes do make a pretty big difference to yours eyes

I either have no eyelashes, or they're very, very fine...so a couple days ago I got a "beginners" set and will be trying them out soon.

Earlier, someone said the glue is "gently sticky"...*whew!*...I was super-concerned about ripping off my eyelids.

I have a "Beauty book for dummies" (tm) and it says to use the individual lashes, not the full length ones...

Thoughts?

If it wasn't for mascara, it would be hard to tell if I have any lashes at all   I'm just getting into using false eyelashes, the best thing I can recommend is to experiment until you find what's right for you  :)  That's what I'm doing anyway

Well, I tried them out last night...they were a lot easier than I'd thought to put them on...used fingertips to get a final alignment.

The glue was just a bit sticky, not enough to cause pain when removing the lash (just pull slowly and let the lash release itself), and it set enough so the lash wouldn't fall off, but not so fast I couldn't reposition the lash slightly (under 5 seconds to get a good fit)

Best part was when I modeled them, everyone said I looked great with them! I, myself, could not easily see them (trick of the lighting, eyelids, and etc) but as long as others say I look great, I'm happy!

The ones I have are a full set, and after I get used to these, I'm going to try the single-lash ones...one thing I noticed was the different feeling I got when blinking...the lash makes the eyelid "stiff", almost mechanical feeling. Just an odd feeling, I got used to it after a bit.
