Title: Wishing greetings
Post by: Metroland on December 26, 2011, 05:20:19 AM
I was just wondering how come no one wished happy holidays to people here?  Is there a rule to not extend greetings to other people?

Just wondering.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I think there is so much diversity here that some folks just skip it so they won't offend anyone. I decided not to start my own thread, but reply to all of them. Hugs, Devlyn

I put my Christmas greetings on the first thread I saw (which was in mtf section) with a request that it get moved to general.

A pity it wasn't, because I want to wish Christmas to everyone, not just Andros.

I had been unsure about what to say in a "seasons greatings" type of message knowing that there is more then one special event (depending on your belief system) at this time of year I don't know how to spell the Jewish or Wicker celebrations and while Christmas is not religious for a large number of people.  Some people who have been hurt badly by Christian groups would not like anything to do with anything Christ related so I decided not to post a merry Christmas Message that was not inclusive of other faith groups So Now I'll just say Happy holidays hope everyone has an enjoyable celebration what ever that means to you.

I like the comment I read elsewhere: Christmas is a secular holiday that happens to fall on a religious holiday (or several).

Whatever, I wish you peace and happiness and prosperity, but then I always do.  And i hope if you did the gift exchanging thing or will in the next few days, you made someone happy and vice versa.  And if you visited family it was more pleasant than not.  And so on. :)

Personally, I got an electric violin, but my mom has gallstones and has been suffering for a couple of weeks now, so it's a mixed bag.
