I'm 50+, single, live in a small progressive town in BC, have two boys 18 & 16, autostraddle natured, on HRT three years, bottom surgery 2012, play and work with words + synths + pixels + code. I wrote a trans blog for a few years, co-presented Trans101 presentations to women's, Gov't, NGO etc groups locally. I recently lost an important web design contract when the client discovered I was trans, and since I've decided to become anonymous in my web presence.
For me, confidence is what drives me. Try to take it away... forget it, not happening.

Hi Kahlan, it's nice to meet you! I just turned 50, not liking the idea! I live near Boston. See you around, hugs, Devlyn
Hi Kahlan,
Welcome to the most friendliest family on the Net. You have a strong and positive attitude that will take you a long way; and the confidence to get there. I sincerely wish you nothing but the best for the coming year (2012) with your surgery.
There are many here who have "walked the talk," and I'm sure if you asked they could answer whatever questions you had.
Hope the information and experience can make your journey that much easier. In the meantime, be safe, well and happy
Lotsa huggs
Catherine
