It's not the content of writer Amy Johnson's column, "Can Transgender People Pray?" in the Federal Way Mirror that bothers us so much. For the record, she is quite supportive of the transgender community. But what in tarnation did she hope to accomplish with that headline?

Many people are aware that Dec. 1 is World AIDS Day each year. But how many of you know that Nov. 20 is the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance?
Transgender Day of Remembrance began with a candlelight vigil in 1999, after the murder of Rita Hester, who was killed because of her gender identity. The day continues to remember, honor and raise awareness about people we have lost due to anti-transgender bias, prejudice or hatred.
in practice very nice article
Haha. Throw out the content, that title is pure win. Lol.
(I did read the articles, and they are legit)
Often the titles are written by someone other than the author.
That was an excellent article.
The response from unicornbooty was overly sensitive, in my opinion.
The headline as excellent. For a start, it encourages people to read the article, which is what a good headline should do anyway.

This.
Blame the copy editor.
I loved this story.
It's a small world. The author is a good friend of mine. She is very supportive of trans people. :)
Pass on compliments for that article for us would you?
