A reportedly 14-year-old Girl Scout has joined with parents and Scout alumni to call for a boycott of the widely popular Girl Scout cookies, claiming the organization is using cookie proceeds to push a radical homosexual agenda at the expense of the Scouts' safety.
The girl, identified as Taylor from Ventura County, Calif. – but whose parents have asked her last name and troop number be withheld – made a YouTube video calling for the boycott after she was shocked to discover Girl Scouts USA, or GSUSA, has been admitting transgender boys who claim to be girls into scout troops.

This girl reminds me of the same kind of snobbishness that my sisters received when they tried to join the Junior Daughters of the American Revolution (JDAR). They went to a few meetings and had enough of the snob Nazi officers of that chapter. I guess they were too good over my 'trash' sisters from the projects.
Obviously, she hadn't read the Standards of Care (SOC) regarding children who want to transition or her mom wouldn't let her. Nor does she know that nearly 100% of the transgirls who took puberty blockers go on to complete their transition around age 18 from a recent report. Nor will she can tell the difference from those who are transitioning young because they will acquire the same shape, desires, and demeanor as her cis sisters.
Her sash is a lot different that what was available to the GS in the 60's. At least we can decipher the larger, colorful, more detailed badges they wore back then. As for selling cookies or even jamboree tickets (I did as a boy scout), there have been changes. We sold these things door-to-door in the 60's usually without a chaperone. The boy scouts, solo; the girl scouts, 2 or more with one or more holding the boxes of cookies. Now it is in front of a grocer or through someone in your office who has a girl scout daughter.

Another commenter: I like her. She's trying to tell the rest of the commenters the difference between a transgender and a gay person. Another wrote: [Dr. Seuss had it right "A person is a person no matter how they identify"]. A lot of people are seeing through the YouTube poster's snobbery.

Since my surgery... going on 25 years I think, I honestly can not recall a single situation where I have actually seen another nude woman! Please, I'd love to hear one of those charmers call me a pervert. I'm sure I could counter with something snappy and relevant.

I'd much rather dissect their arguments or use satire to show how their beliefs are pure twaddle. A hostile response could trigger a defensive reaction. Education, tolerance, and understanding are my goal.

Some commenters there can't seem to separate gender identity and sexual orientation. Transgender = pervert. Transgender girl = penis. Penis + Pervert = rape. If they had compassion and empathy and knew and learned the transgender rape and death statistics, perhaps they would be a bit more understanding. We're more likely to be the target of sexual violence than their little girls are.

Some comments of mine took a while for moderator approval. One took about five minutes.
I've watched this through as I felt it was appropriate. Though my initial reaction was to stop within the first 30 secs when I realised this is more about the child than what she might have to say.
The girl is child. A precocious one, certainly, but still a child.
Seems to be rather desperate that those in the US are resorting to this. The whole point of democracy is that, while everyone should have a right to express their views, others should have an equal opportunity to respond.
If I were in the US now, I would be feeling very uncomfortable responding to this child, simply for fear of harming her emotionally.
Hopefully, our community and others will allow this child to grow up as all children should. To hold and express her views, however much we abhor the way she is being clearly manipulated by her parents here.
And wish her well.

The Girl Scouts will be celebrating their 100th anniversary of their founding in Savannah, GA by Juliette "Daisy" Gordon Low this year.
But it's shaping up to be a tumultuous and drama filled centennial year because of the renewed conservafool attacks on the organization.
Some of the conservafools have a problem with transchild Bobbi Montoya being admitted into a Colorado Girl Scout troop.

Back in 2010, an outright lie manufactured a controversy regarding the Girl Scouts (GSUSA). The Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute published that during an event, the Young Women's Caucus (which took place during the 54th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations), materials (this, .pdf) by the International Planned Parenthood Federation were distributed. While that would not inherently be an issue, in my opinion, it was An Issue™ to this religious group that blew up over the internet and various "right wing" media.
Of course, it was, as I said, an outright lie. The Young Women's Caucus was an event attended by four groups: GSUSA, UNICEF's Working Group on Girls, Girls Learn International, and The Grail. The participants were never given any materials beyond the statement they were working on writing themselves and the event was only open to the participants in those groups--no one else was allowed attendance. If the charge is true - and Riedly was active in the comments thread when this story appeared on Christian Post for what that's worth, then it's hard to imagine the girl is anything but a puppet.
One of the comments also claimed the girl was not, in fact, actually a Girl Scout, though I'm unsure what the source is for that claim.

Watching the smug video of a Girl Scout from California as she went viral yesterday asking us to boycott those cookies as a protest against -- gasp -- the policy that allows troops to include transgender children who live as girls, all I could think was "what were her parents thinking?"

It would seem that, having been caught in a rather obvious scam, involving waving her daughter infront of a camera to emphasise a bunch of utterly specious claims, by one Susan Riedley, the editor of HonestGirlScouts.com
I understand it has been posted by others on YouTube, but sadly, I can't say where.
