I've also seen some episodes of what not to wear so I went looking for dresses that I think would suit my body shape. And I found this.

I like the style and the colors. I'll also post a full length picture of myself, sorry it had to be taken in the bathroom at work. I just dont have one here at home. But I'm pretty interested in it. It's not like I'd get to wear it much because of work but you know, I'd like to say I at least have one in the closet. Opinions?

* Opinions?*
Gorgeous dress --- BUT, it stands and falls with a small waist line. Practically all these types of dresses do. They are one dead give away if you don't have a waistline, and in your pic it shows you do not.
I have only one such type dress, tried it many a times and it JUST does not work. It is a CRYING shame, could even give me GID to see how much 'our' apple-build makes these beautiful things NOT work for us!
For your consolation --- they also do not work on 'waist-less' natal females and make them look just sooo wrong too.
We have to play over our lack of waist-line which works best with anything two piece... but that's another enquiry, eh :-)
Go well,
Axélle
Hi Keaira,
Gorgeous dress. Love the style and colour. Although halter necks have never been a favourite of mine. Give me headaches.
As your transition proceeds, hopefully you will lose a little muscle mass on the top half of your body and your breast will grow a bit. Those changes should assist in developing the waistline Axelle eluded to.
A further trick you can perform with this style of dress to emphasis a waist line you may or may not have is. Wear a slip or petticoat underneath, preferably one with at least one layer of tulle, if not 2 or 3. If you know a dressmaker, or you could even do it yourself, stitch an extra layer of tulle round the waist line, about 8" long. this should push the skirt out, creating a false waist line.
Pity to waste such a lovely outfit. You'd look lovely in it. In the meantime, be safe, well and happy
Lotsa huggs
Catherine
Don't mind your head about whether it "suits you" or not)Other than in size, ofcourse), but just wear what you want to wear- That is the point of transition, to be able to live in harmony with yourself, not to move to another restricting prison.
If you want that dress, then buy it.
I think the whole point of wearing this dress would be to give the illusion of a female figure? It's skin-hugging at the waistline, and the belt pulls it tight, below the waist it gives the illusion of an hourglass as it flares out.
Thing is, sleeveless dresses work best with thin arms/shoulders, so if you lose the bulk it should look good.

This.
Very pretty dress.
Wear whatever you want, btw.
In my personal opinion, this dress will not fit well with your body type, unfortunately.
Lovely dress. Nonetheless, to reiterate others - wear it if you want to.
Well hips I can fake with this dress. just add a petticoat like the model had on and as Catherine said. I've not seen a lot of modern styles I like and this is a classic style. But my ample chest [ LMAO!] wont be falling out of it. And if I don't look right now then it doesnt mean it wont further on down the road. ^_^

It's pretty, but I'm not sure. Your arms/shoulders/tatoo might be made more prominent by the fact they're nude. That dress looks like it's specifically made to fit very narrow shoulders best. I don't know, you can try, but I sadly don't think it will do.
I think its adorable.
I'm going to get alot of hate for this, but here goes..
Dont do it.
For 1 you have biceps.
For 2 your hips appear to be AWFULLY low to match that dress and your waist high. It's going to probably hug you in the wrong spot, negating any positive effects that the loose skirt will give to your hips
For 3 your upper chest muscles are going to show, and let's be honest: do you have that area lookin like that mannequin?
In short that dress was designed for a girl with very little upper body mass and a short rib cage. Unless you can get it tailored to lower the waist for you, it'll look terrible on you. Even then, I can see your upper body hanging out of that dress in many unflattering ways.
But then again, I've been wrong before and it is your money. If wearing the dress makes you happy, buy it :)

Nah, it's just my pants sit kind of low. [ Thanks walmart for your crappy clothing selection]. I like boot cut best. I don't have to fight to pull my socks up like I do with other styles, but I can never find them that don't just sit low. But I'm going to wait and see how my body develops I think. I hope I lose some of this muscle but my job isn't going to make that easy. It's only been 10 months on HRT and most of it was low dosage. ^_^

Probably your best bet... those upper chest muscles are sucky sucky.. I've lost a ton of muscle going full blast on HRT for the past 4-5 months and those are among the last bits of noticable muscle left on my body.

I had some belly fat come off but I apparently have some big abs underneath. But my arms are going to be pretty hard to shrink down because of the tools I use daily. I've lost about 1/3-1/2 my upper body strength already though. So here's hoping.

Just start complaining about not being able to lift crap anymore, that worked for me!! Now all the guys just automatically assume I can't even open a bottle of apple juice. But I think that gets easier to sell when the muscle starts falling off. I'm sure it will, especially since you're losing strength. But watch out.. that muscle has to turn into some type of mass, and I doubt it'll be water....

Yea, there's no such thing as a free meal. I'm not too worried though. weight I can work off. but how the heck do you get rid of muscle?
I wish I knew... I unexpectedly just lost about 7 lbs and it was all muscle in my chest area. My chest went from 37" to just under 32" in 3 months. Diet? Shoot.. I ate Micky Ds once a day and still lost weight...
I think it's really genetics.. my mom was freakishly skinny and void of muscles before she had me.
But constantly lifting stuff isnt' gonna help shed it obviously... I did read though that somebody with female T levels has twice as hard of a time maintaining the same muscle mass as someone with male levels of T.
well I just looked at my arms about 5 mins ago. I was shocked! my arms have shrunk quite a bit in the biceps. Speaking of genetics, my dad is short but stocky with arms like trees and my mum is 5 foot nothing and super model small.

I would need that print in a muumuu cut.
I should get it and hang it up as my "I'll fit you one day" inspiration dress. lol
Out of curiosity, what is your job?
plastic injection mold robot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jejedhhbgp8&feature=related#)
I bolt the molds in and fine tune the process. and I take the molds out too. Just imagine this on a press the size of a cargo van. Some of the molds are bigger and I'm sure, heavier than a Smart Car. I have to be a Mold Setter, Molding Technician, Make sure the machines get the materials to make the parts, troubleshoot and sometimes do maintenance and repairs to them.
waist training does work.. i did it and got a great shape = http://www.romantasy.com/cyboutique/corset/images/wasp.jpg (http://www.romantasy.com/cyboutique/corset/images/wasp.jpg)
but i never wore it during the day or i waited 4 hours after eating dinner to digest food. Then wore it at night until around 3am when i wanted out..
get the smallest style with 4 buttons in front and threaded in rear which you pull strings to tighten it..
it will change your waist and appetite too as it alter stomach muscles..
PS: Go slow over time and make the strings tighter slowly over time.. not fast.. soon you will have quite a thin waist and not even be able to push your tummy out even if you tried
Oh... Just below professional weight lifter when it comes to loing muscle, I see.
I don't wanna be depressing, but I think you'll have a lot of trouble losing that muscle with that job.

Ok I think everyone's going to smack me. But I disagree I think you can work it. But you have to understand how you can work it. Your hair style and body shape remind me of Kenley on Project Runway.
I can't stand her but I do like her style. She's got the same shape as you but thinner and with bigger boobs. Here in NY I see girls like this all the time. What made it click for me was your tattoo. The problem is that your arm mass is wider than your shoulders. So you'd need to have a dress shaped like that but with the cap sleeves I was mentioning before. You'd also have to funk it up a bit with vintage styling because of the tattoo.
In other words you could wear that dress with combat boots and get away with it. But not with dainty pretty shoes. You'd also need to wear a cardigan over it with 3/4 sleeves.
Like this
(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.brandretailers.com%2F10dollarmall%2Fassets%2Fproducts%2F27206%2Fstandard%2Fdsc-0162%281%29.jpg&hash=75bb735c763b369e108be3c04aecafd45069df88) but solid black or sheer black. Not a print. Then you could wear the flats.
Here's a similar picture of Kenley in a plain dress. She could wear the cardigan in a print over it.
(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fblogs.reuters.com%2Ffanfare%2Ffiles%2F2008%2F10%2Fkenley-fish.jpg&hash=83a26e604bb5b04a279a0c981f540a26f378cbcb) The look would work for you if you have stocky legs. But I think your shoulders are too narrow.
See how her arms are folded but her arm mass is still less than the shoulders. That's going to be the only issue for you.
You can pinafore a waist. And the belt will give an illusion. Look on her site and you can see she's always holding her arms away from her body. That's what girls will do to create this illusion of better arms. Yours are right next to your torso.
This type of dress will work much better until you get a better balance going in your arms and shoulders.
(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fkenleycollins.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F23589601-23589604-large-382x574.jpg&hash=b033a37448509d2f6c9f5d890384c89060e2a38e)
This look would also look really great on you. You could find turquoise colored shirts. Notice the boat neck collar creates an illusion of wider shoulders.

I think a really good look for you would be "Steampunk" Steampunk mixes vintage with modern funky looks. They also use a lot of corsets in their clothing which would help with the waist issues.

It's going to take a while. And I realize that. But on the other side of things, it will keep me in shape.
The thing is, you're forgetting that because the waist is high, if you add some krenolin or a petticoat, then how your hips are isn't going to matter because you cant see them. I've seen this dress on a skinny model to a plus size woman and it still looks great. It's all about what you do with it. I mean unless you transition from a young age, your stuck with guy hips.
What's funny is my wife thinks everyone here has this preconception about how a woman should look. that they should be small, dainty and pencil thin. And not all women are like that and couldn't be if they tried.
And as for biceps,

OMG! I feel vindicated. That's exactly what I was thinking but much shorter. I can't seem to find them online. I have two of them and they really are my most valuable pieces of clothing. one is a knit boat necked 3/4 sleeve cardigan. The longer one will just make you look heavier than you are.
And if you look through the pix you'll see that girl who is much heavier than you Veronica, that is EXACTLY the kind of look I see here all the time. That's what I mean by steampunk, young girls with tatts wearing pretty dresses and funky shoes.
Ha! I bet you feel vindicated too. High five.

*High Five back at ya* :D Yes girl I do feel vindicated.
I've had my eye on this dress for a good 5 months now I think. And you're right Mixie, the Bolero is the way to go. Even my wife agrees. I like the poplin dress. It doesnt come in my size, but I can go and look for that style elsewhere. Not sure about the jumpsuit though. It's hard for me to wear heels because of my bad leg. I can do it and before I got hurt I had no problems walking in them.
Actually, I was more worried about the shoulders and arms than the waist and hips. However, I'm always overcritical and, over everything, not that skilled, when it comes to looks. So seeing how confident you are and how you've got amazing advice from amazing people, just ignore me. ~
