Title: Introduction.
Post by: Tazia of the Omineca on January 18, 2012, 07:33:34 AM
Well I joined because I was lurking for lack of a better term.
I liked a thread I was reading and I kind of felt I should look for a support system of sorts.
Thus here I am, I am here to learn and grow, and all that corny (or cheesy if you prefer) stuff.
Oh and I am MtF and as of yet non-op because the thought bothers me so much I can't think about it.

Also I need to figure out how to get an avatar, need to work on that, in the mean time, here is a picture of me.

Hi Zylphia,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's. We are all family here, so you are safe to express your feelings.

You'll need 15 posts before the magic is switched on, including posting avatars etc. A moderator should swing by soon to give you the good oil on how it all works. Nothing complicated.

There is no shortage of information and resources to help you grow and understand the many and varied aspects of yourself. Remembering that everyones journey is quite unique. What works for one may not work for another.

There is no lack of support either, and the wealth of experience from the many who have "walked the talk," is amazing.

Hope you enjoy your stay. I look forward to hearing more from you in the time to come. Keep in touch and let us know how you are coping. In the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

P.S.  I love your hairstyle. Looks and works fantastically.

Heh, Hello, and thanks for the welcome most of the people here seem rather nice.
I'll remember to try and express myself more, as I hide a lot and tend to sit in corners...
^^;

And thanks, I designed my hairstyle myself, amazing what you can do with 4 bobby pins.

Hi Zylphia,

Good to see you round again

Thank you. I'm not as vicious as I look. Particularly when I take my false teeth out (if I had any). So if you say anything nasty, I'll 'gum' you to death. (ROFL)

Please excuse the sad humor. It comes with dementia. Insanity ran in my family; fortunately only to the end of the street and back. Probably more a waddle than a run.  OK, OK. I promise not to quit my day job, to take up stand up comedy. I'll sit down for it. (Hold on folks! They get worse from here on in) Definitely have to take these out of the evening performance, put them back in the matinee and rework them.

Please don't leave on my account. Stay a little longer. There should be someone round soon with a lot more sense than me.

You are lucky. There are no corners here to hide in. Years ago, in my teen years, I'd hide behind a couch when I was socialising. I still learnt a little just by listening to conversations. Things didn't really start happening until I can out from behind the couch and started living. But Hey. Everything in your own time and pace.

4 Bobby pins. That's awesome. You have quite a talent. The fringe and tinting look absolutely fabulous too. You are doing so well.

As you can see from my avatar, I'm quite challenged in that department. Seems like my hair has a mind of its own, and simply does what it wants to. Another work-in-progress.  That's my Teddy Bears ear on the right hand side I'm leaning into.  :icon_sad:

Enjoy your stay, and be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Has anyone seen the decaff?

Got to be the caffine, can't be the 'E'

Ah! Dry humour, my favourite!
Oh and I just got a haircut, straight bangs now, no more fringe.
As you can see in my avatar. :3

I just have to say I love your style. Loving the pink hair. Whenever I can move out of my parents place I'm going to dye my hair a purplish color.

Most likely a darker purple.

Welcome Zylphia, I too love the streaks.

For the person talking about purple, just be aware that the darker colors (at least in the Manic Panic line of products) will leech if you sweat too much and your shower will have stains.  I wore Vampire Red for around 3 months and finally most of my t's don't have pinkish trim anymore (not that it bothered me but I thought I'd mention it. ;))

Our son wore electric lizard green and it never was a problem for him.  Perhaps I simply put too much in, but I did dye it more than once and it was always the same.

Personally I really didn't want pure vampire red, but rather streaks in my black, but that skill is beyond me ATM.

I LOVED the color, but the upkeep was simply too much (extra laundry, more shower cleaning, etc).  I'm dye it black, but my roots are back to their natural dark brown.  As soon as I heal enough from FFS (next weekend), I'm going to henna and then indigo my hair for a consistant black.

I KNOW there is beard shadow here.  It was the end of the day and this was pre-out to the world (and even pre-laser).  Obviously it is also pre FFS.  Of the piercings I've moved the eyebrow to a silver ring and the snakebites are gone at my wife's request.

Let me know if the picture doesn't share right.  It was a Facebook profile pic for a while and I am not sure it is open to the world or not and surprisingly it won't let me edit it.

I've had wildfire red, bad boy blue and pure white hair before. I have to say, that Purple is a pretty color. I'd wear that and cut my hair like Major Motoko Kusanagi's from Ghost in the Shell.

I actually found the hair and piercings (and tattoos in the right clothes), while they drew attention to me, they drew attention AWAY from the awkward middle stage i was.  It may not work for everyone, but I heard stuff like "look at that red hair" vs "look at that f**/tr****" or even "is that a boy or a girl".

It is a form of camouflage.  You are so outside the "norm" that you are invisible.  Especially if you are 38 and look that way.

Thanks. You gave a great idea for what I might be for Halloween 2012.  :D
