Title: bottom surgery
Post by: Wilhelm on January 20, 2012, 11:02:52 PM
I've been bored and impatient so even though I won't be able to have bottom surgery until at least 5 years from now I've been looking into the options available. And they're all complete sh*t. Metoidioplasty is too small. Phalloplasty just creeps me out in general but I don't wanna say why because I would just end up offending people who have had it done. But not having bottom surgery at all is even worse! I'm really disappointed in everything right now. I don't know what to do. Have anyone EVER had bottom surgery and it looked okay?

And now that I've looked into the surgeries available, I'm shocked that the suicide rate is only 41% among trans people.

I'm gonna stop you right there.  Yes, you are looking at photos on a screen, but understand those parts are connected to people who had surgery to heal themselves.  They put those pictures out there for other like-minded dudes who may want to get one of those surgeries and need resources.  ->-bleeped-<- talking their surgeries and by extension their choices and bodies is unnecessary.  I don't know how many photos you've seen but there are many amazing, incredible results out there.

Definitely unnecessary.

I'm not really sure how to respond to this post... I mean I understand the limited options can be frustrating, but flat out insulting people's bottom surgery choices isn't going to make them likely to respond constructively here. As for the question, I haven't had bottom surgery and don't plan to... am pretty satisfied with the changes from T.

To the OP - so what you're saying is that more transpeople should be killing themselves because you believe they're better off doing that then "settling" with the, as you say, "->-bleeped-<-" surgery results?  I won't even comment further as your statement speaks for itself.  I guess you obviously won't be satisfied unless they figure out how to do penis transplants.  It's not about having a pornstar perfect cock - it's about feeling whole.

I've seen some meta, maybe centurion, photos that looked pretty good. Got to be lucky with growth though.

Here is something I don't understand. Can not all metas be repositioned? A cis man's penis sits a little higher. I see some people get repositioning and others don't.

i get what the OP is saying and i get why people could be offended but this his opinion but yes its a bit harsh. if i would get anything it would be a meta with urethra lengthening and no sac. i would then make a prosthetic to fit over my meta so i could look normal and penetrate.

reasons
-pee with ease
-to jack off
-no more frontal hole

i dont want balls because i find that the balls tend to look to big to high up and lateral they almost look like labia to me.

I've been trying to find more pictures of the centurion, with no avail except the yahoo group. :(

Personally, I'm quite sure I want a meta or a centurion. Sometimes I worry I won't grow enough and my penis will be small, but my rationale is that if it is, it's small anyway without the surgery. My genitals will never be 'normative' either, and I'd rather have balls than a vagina. I can understand why people are frustrated and unhappy with the results, but yeah, I do think we need to be sensitive to those who choose to get it.

And people wonder why more post-op guys don't share their experiences.

+1 to Andy.

@Sharky:  Some surgeons don't like to do the repositioning/mons resection at the same time as other surgeries.  Not all metas are one stage.  So cost and time (including timing of the photos) could be a factor in why you aren't seeing as many repositioning photos.

I can understand how Thomas feels and I think that shouldn't hurt the feelings of the people that have chosen to  have a bottom surgery. We all know the resluts are not still very good (i hope they improve them with time), and the people who has chosen  to have the surgery knew how it would look like and took freely the decision, because for them the pros were more or/and more important than the cons. But that's not so for everyone.
Im my case i think i would chose meta in the case i want to have a surgery. For me sensitivity is very important and i have read that the vast majority don't have it with the phalloplasty. I think a bit the same as anibioman: pee with ease and jack off are two good reasons to make it worth it.

I have seen some really awesome surgeries (phallo and Meta only) and I've got to say...both can be pretty good. Just need to do the research.
