I completed my one year of being Maia this past weekend and celebrated in style. Got myself a princess dress, tiara and professional makeup application at a MAC store and partied it up with friends. Started at a local friend's house with "It's a girl!" pink decorations everywhere and cupcakes topped with fondant vaginas. :D Then I went to lesbian night at a local club and got a lot of attention. Usually I don't get approached, but that night I was the belle of the ball and several young ladies came up to me to talk, ask me why I was dressed as I was, tell me I looked beautiful, ask if I was a lesbian or to simply dance. It felt awesome! A couple of the go-go dancers pulled me up on stage and took turns giving me lap dances which culminated in a dual-lapdance with both of them at the same time. I was in heaven and I felt beautiful!

Well, I've been accepted by my lesbian friends as a legitimate lesbian. However, picking someone up at a club and taking them home for a one-night-stand is much more difficult.

I've been on HRT for 15 months at this point. Started when I was 39. One year of HRT between the photos. Will be 41 the day I'm released from the hospital for SRS in two weeks.

OMG, Maia, I am SO glad you pulled me over to this thread. Yes, it has been a while. I'm about 5 months behind you on HRT, about a year away from GRS (I hope). But my surgery will be covered by Canada's health plan. Anyway, you look spec-freakin'-tacular!!
On Eve's question, just last weekend I was in Toronto attending a conference of dialog between the Transwomen community and the Lesbian community, and it was a very awesome and powerful day. Lots of learning on both sides.
Nice to reconnect Colleen and thank you so much for the compliments. My surgery should be covered by my health insurance. I should hear from them any day on that. They made me jump through a bunch of hoops and provide things not necessary according to the Standards of Care, but I hope it is worth it.

And why settle for only one day? I have a tiara (not as nice as yours, still...) and I keep it in my desk-drawer, so I can whip it out and put it on as needed. When I slap that bitch on my head and tell them: "Because I'm the F-ing Princess, that's why! Now, off with their heads!" - well you'd be amazed at how many arguments it stops dead in their tracks.
