Sure does, who is playing :embarrassed:
I cannot watch tennis, they need a dress code for the guys, budgie smugglers, then I'd watch.
:embarrassed:
I'm totally telling my kid it's Australia Day tomorrow. Lol how do you celebrate that? At the moment all I can think of are prisoners and eucalyptus. I guess I could make tea.

Just watched Sharapova beat Kvitova in the women's semifinals. Next up is Nadal vs. Federer, which is the greatest rivalry in the history of sports. I've been excited about this match all day and it doesn't even start 'til 12:30 A.M. my time.

"Budgie smuggler" - Had to google that one, but I definitely agree with you on that dress code after seeing some pics. :D
Well it is pretty hot in most of Aus at this time of the year, So we cool down. The beach, cold beer and BBQs. On the BBQ for Aus Day is lamb (traditionally) cold beer and of course watch the test cricket. If you are a guy you watch the cricket and the girls etc and drink beer, if female you check out the guys and drink beer. All fits together in the cycle of life.

Ha Ha, Should be a great final.
I always said that if the girls playing beach volley ball have to wear bikinis then the guys have to wear budgies. Enjoy the final and I hope it is a goodie. And watching Federer doing a serve in BS would heighten my appreciation of the sport considerably.
Hugs and enjoy
CJ
.... and I didn't even know. I missed another holiday! I seem to be missing them a lot lately.

Sounds about like Independence Day in the states, sans fireworks. Or Memorial Day. Sounds nice, actually.
:eusa_dance:Happy Australia Day!!! :eusa_dance:

They actually do have fireworks for Australia Day too. They just announced on ESPN that they're going to stop the tennis matches for 9 minutes because of the fireworks show. I think that's kinda cool. I can't imagine Americans stopping in the middle of the Super Bowl or World Series for something like that.
We sort of like fire works
Happy Australia Day to all! :icon_drunk:
Jennifer
Australia day for Aussies in London consists of getting extremely drunk at the Walkie in Sheboo then going to the Redback and dancing that special Australian 'one first pumping' dance until everyone is throwing up/snogging... Rather like most nights then. :)
Oh - but instead of a DJ, you tune into an indie music countdown from Oz.

Aussie Aussie Aussie- Oye Oye Oye!
consists of getting extremely drunk
Yeah, St. Patrick's Day (our unofficial Ireland Day) is a day when everyone - no matter how non-Irish they are - can go out and tie one on and puke in gutter. Same with Cinco de Mayo (Mexican Day) round up the tequila shooters and cervasa. We must have been sleeping when the Aussies came up with a drinking holiday. How'd we miss that?
Oh yeah, Aussie, Aussie, Aussie - oy oy oy
And also, Burn's night, the Scots enjoying themselves with whisky, offal and unlistenable poetry.
It's amazing what whiskey will get you through.

I like Monty Python's sketch where they lampoon Australian universities and Australian attitudes and mores. Have you seen it?
Happy Australia Day

When I was in England I watched Australian soap operas, and I remember them being rather shockingly raunchy.
Now remember this was written and performed 40 years ago.
