I have a question.. or maybe two... I am about a month and one week post op, and I've definitely been having more trouble dilating since flying 30 hours back to America. Right after surgery I was at 6 inches and 3/4s, the whole prospect of 'dilation is wasted if not at full depth' how does it work, because I dont think I've ever hit the 6 and 3/4s mark since coming back home to America. I've reached 6, yes, and done dynamic, with both M and L but I don't think I've been able to push myself past that point, do the more experienced girls out there have any tips like pre and post dilation tips to improve on the session, the length of the session, I've been extending mine to about an hour sometimes more in hopes of doing a better session. Position wise, I need tips here, I find that just 'half sitting' can be very uncomfortable and cramping. I just need tips and advice from those who have gone through similar experiences, I keep telling myself I don't mind losing those 3/4 of an inch, is that a bad mentality?
Elle:
First off, congratulations!
Second, don't be so hard on yourself. You've just been through major surgery. You've been hit by a truck and had to be shipped for 30 hours, probably feeling like you were in storage. Been there, done that.
Second, 6 inches is plenty for any man. If you find someone longer than that, you'd probably be able to throw a saddle on him! :D Seriously, though, if you do, then what other women do is change their position so that it is satisfying for both party's.
Also, you are probably swollen as a result of the surgery. This swelling will affect depth. That is a given and quite normal. The amount that you have lost is quite acceptable for this type of surgery.
Keep up with your dilation schedule as was given you by your surgeon. Most surgeons recommend at least 3 times a day for the first 2-3 months.
Also when you dilate, just use gentle, but but firm pressure on the dilator. Not too hard, you don't want to rip anything. Basically, once you feel the dilator at the top of your vagina, press until you can feel some resistance.
As you heal, the swelling will go down, and you may gain some more depth. Or you might not. As long as you maintain your regimen, you should be fine with wherever you end up. Also don't worry too much about width right now. You can work with the larger dilators when you feel better. Usually after you have dilated with your first one for a little while.

Hi Elle
Congratulations on your surgery. Have you tried using the small dilator? By the time I got home
from Chonburi I had also lost about 3/4 inch in depth. I then began using the small dilator.
I used the small dilator to work for depth. You are at 6" now I think you would probably get to
6 1/8" or 6 1/4" with the small dilator in your first or second session. Work it for all you can. Then
move back to the M dilator, once you get the M dilator at 6" or even better at 6 1/16" then begin
timing your session. Do your 20 or 30 minutes keep watching and you will probably be hitting 6 1/8"
occasionally. Then do some time with the L.
In my experience I spent more effort working for depth for the first 2 months. I used the L as time
and energy allowed. And if I couldn't reach the same depth with the L I didn't worry. I think the
big thing is to remember time spent with the S dilator doesn't count as "being at depth".
Do you use the CM measurements on your dilator? 16 CM is about 6 1/4". Make that your new goal, it
is more objective, tha looking at that big daunting blank spot between 6 and 7 inches.
You also mentioned position. I would lay totally flat or at most one thin pillow just touching my shoulders.
I also noticed that it helped to bring my legs closer together. I was opening my legs wide to minimize the
discomfort in my labia. But I think this just tended to make things tighter. I really felt this difference in
working for width, but it might help when working for depth.
I also did a lot of experimenting with the angle of the dilator. Left to right, up, down. You feel like your
stuck at 6" but maybe if you work to the far left with the small you get 6 1/8" once you find the spot keep
trying to work it larger with the small.
Just keep working, experimenting, don't be discouraged.
Best wishes,
Elaina
Due to reduced swelling of the perineum/fourchette-area of the vulva you will quite easily loose ~ 1" depth as the swelling goes down. In my case even more, and so from initially 5 ½" I'm now about 4 ½" and when measured in front by the clit area about 4" only.
I will not go any deeper (methinks) as at that point I hit 'rock-bottom' i.e. the bone of the vaginal fornix/Douglas pouch.
There is a limit to depth in my experience and it depends on your pelvic build.
So if you hit 'rock bottom' (bone) that's it, - for all I can say.

PS: the average gg is about 3" - 5 1/2" deep see: http://www.annelawrence.com/genitaldimensions.html (http://www.annelawrence.com/genitaldimensions.html)
