Title: Reprobate?
Post by: Kellsie on February 02, 2012, 01:43:59 AM
I have been called a reprobate, a he/she, and other hateful things by so called "Christians".  I have been told I am going to hell, belittled etc by other such religions.  I have just reverted back to my native american beliefs and said *&=*=&^%,them all!!  I know I am who I am and, I love everybody. I judge nobody, I love all, and forgive all.  I am not saying I am against Christianity, just the aCtions or deeds of said individuals.  I am WELL educated in almost all religions, but mostly christianity and catholocism.  I mean even the Jesus of the Bible ate dinner with the chief of sinners and never once did he pass judgement on anybody, so...

Kellsie I used to get told I was going to Hell for having short hair. Nobody has cornered the market on righteousness, and none of us really know what we're talking about.

Ever try science? It's unbelievably beautiful, and you don't have to talk yourself into anything to understand it. The only leaps of faith involved in biology/humanity/physics/etc are those required to keep going in the face of being anchored so obliquely in such a complex picture. We don't mean a lot, except to each other. I think that's okay. I've never felt let down by that conceptualization of things.

However you frame your meanings, try not to let them hurt you.

Felix is right Kellsie.

While it's natural you will be a bit off put with such negativity when you were expecting something positive, it's really about learning and experiences.

As you say, what they are doing is not Christianity. It's just mean.

That, frankly, seems more sad for them than it is for you.

Incidently, you're looking good in that photo.

I love God.  I just don't like his fan club.

At least one thing Kellsie,

You know who you are, within the scheme of things, that's the only thing that matters at the end of the day.

You are obviously aware their judgments, accusations and inappropriate comments, only have power when taken on board. They appear to have lost this battle, and probably the war as well.

Keep strong in your resolve and forthright in the knowledge of yourself.

Be safe, well and happy.
Lotsa huggs
Catherine

I have never let myself be bothered by people I know are deluded, so their jibes don't affect me. I just pity their limited vision when faced with the wonders of the Universe.
'Reprobate' is not a word you hear a lot these days, I must admit.

Karen.

Next time tell them 'No, I'm not a reprobate, I'm an apostate."  That ought to hold them at bay.  Besides it's a more accurate description.

A reprobate is a backslider and a backslider knows they are wrong.  An apostate on the other hand is convinced that they right and promotes their 'error' as the 'truth.'  Where a reprobate is often willing to change, the apostate is beyond hope.

The more you know and all that.

Kellsie, you know who you are so no one has a hold on you. I'm male to female transgender and Christian. I'm mindful that we are created the way we are and no one can change that. Be happy with who you are and encourage others to be likewise.
