Title: Hair removal down there
Post by: jsorter on February 03, 2012, 04:11:24 PM
I am curious how you remove your hair down there. I personally shave everything but that is because no one around where I live will wax it away. Do you wax yourself, do you shave it, or do you go all natural? I am tired of shaving bumps plus it doesnt always get everything so I am open to other suggestions....HELP!

Pubic hair, I leave it, although I am getting the bikini line lasered (along with the upper thighs and scrotum).  If I had ANY prospect of sexual activity, I'd trim the pubic hair, tho.  Are you asking about the pubic hair, or something else (i.e. preparation for GRS, or just aesthetics)?

This is the waxing kit I use  :)

(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bigdaddybeauty.com%2Fimages%2FProduct%2Flarge%2FAII-0911.jpg&hash=68e9958e349415536451892fda8136bd21705386)

The instructions are fairly easy but it took a few times to get the technique down

Just do a web search for GiGi Brazilian Bikini wax microwave and there are several shops you can order from

I am shaving it right now.  But I plan to get some laser work done on it as soon as I can.

I shaved for the better part of 20 years, until I discovered waxing--and then laser.

Shaving takes a bit to get used to...the bumps go away once the hairs + skin get used to the process.

fyi, the bumps are called "Pseudofolliculitis barbae (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pseudofolliculitis_barbae)".

Tips: Use hot water to soften everything, use shaving cream "for sensitive areas", and pull the shaved areas taught while shaving. Use a high quality razor.

I hate body hair. I'm going to get it waxed and perhaps even lasered. What remains of it after a few waxing sessions anyway.

Waxing is temporary, about 8 weeks. It does grow back, but it becomes easier to remove (in theory).

Laser is semi-permanent (repeat treatments are needed every so often, maybe every other year).

I had x-number of (Brazilian) laser session --- OUCH!

Since laser now acknowledges to be: "Permanent hair REDUCTION" rather the REMOVAL, I now have waxing done about every 40 days (Islamic rule?)

Frankly --- doing a Brazilian down there, all on your sweet own, is beyond the sort of challenge I feel up to.
The sticky-icky stuff that stays behind not to mention, so I have it done by a professional.

Those females are
- 1.   good at it,
- 2.   do not get phased
- 2.1 even if you still have 'extra skin' i.e. non- or pre-op.
- 2.2 key-sentence: "and now lift the bird" ... so you do as you told... :-)

(Just do NOT get an erection!... the relative pain will normally take care of that also :-) YMMV...

The possible pain of it scares me to death. I haven't experienced waxing yet, and I'm terrified of it. I know I'll have to get my limbs done at some point, but gosh. The youtube videos of having long hair waxed ... The screams of pain make me cringe. I can't even imagine the pain of (brazilian) bikini wax.

Before waxing down there shave until the pubes are  about 0.5 cms then get waxed. Big hair equals big pain.

Most places, at lest where I am advertising XXX will do people with any down there set up. But the customer has to handle the tackle.  If not and you are MtF go to a gay guys' place.

It isn't such a big deal.

It's just money for a job.

I keep things neat and tidy with wax and a pair of scissors.. But I'm not a fan of being bald down there, that just seems a little weird - I'm not a kid any more..

Not looking forward to electrolysis at all pre SRS.  Thanks to the amount of grey, laser isn't really an option.  :'(

Honey, what to say.... you DO seem somewhat behind the times here.
Even grannies (like I) are smooth these days.
A matter of hygiene as it goes... :-)

I don't have much and even amongst my friends there is agreement that being completely bald is a bit weird..

There are electrologists that do the pre-srs mow, you can bet it's extremely painful though. Your HRT provider should be able arrange for some light local anesthesia before each session which makes it infinitely more bearable. You don't have to do the entire thing, but the area at the base of the male genitalia and on the shaft that will eventually be reversed and just to either side has to be cleared because you don't want hair growing out of the inside of the labia.

This is all scaring the ->-bleeped-<- out of me.

I have a lot of dark Italian body hair and its all over the nether region...

So I found sites online that might help:

They're recommending these special kinds of products.  Porn stars use them to get rid of all of the hair down there... and I would trust what they use since they need to do it for their career so these products are top of the line.

They actually have a special powder for ball shaving.

I mean the whole thing is absolutely disgusting and I think I might pass out before I do ANY of this ->-bleeped-<-.  I can't even stand the sight of them.  How am I going to get rid of the hair on them?

For genital electrolysis, I'm either going to Dr. McGinn's office and having the anesthesia... or I am going all the way up to Boston to see Linda DeFruscio at A&A, who is considered the best in New England for this kind of thing.... she will take it ALL Off.

This is one of the hardest parts of the transition - getting rid of body hair from every single little inch of your body.  How the ->-bleeped-<- do you get rid of the hair that is literally in the crease of your ass?   :embarrassed:

This is one of the things that many MTF's take way too far in my opinion.. My gyno tells me that, except for 1 or 2 places, I know have fairly normal body hair for a woman. ie a very fine and fairly sparse covering of vellus hairs.. Women are not completely hairless.. All I've done to achieve that is wax it a few times and take my hormones..

Everyone's pain level is different.

Before I got professionally waxed, I also watched YouTube videos (and "40 year old virgin")...seems to me many of them were excessive in their reactions.

Just in case, though, I got a DIY waxing kit and did my legs...the pain, for me, was totally bearable (no pun intended). At the salon, I handled the entire upper body (front and back, and arms) without so much as a whimper. The tech tells me that some do, some don't handle the pain.

Don't drink any caffeine products before going in...take 1-2 Ibuprofen an hour before going (it numbs the pain receptors), trim hairs to about 1/2" (12mm) as long hair will need to be trimmed anyway.

My pubic mound has done very well after a handful of laser sessions, I'm still shaving the underneath/back bits.
