Title: Stretch Marks
Post by: Wendy on March 21, 2007, 03:14:37 AM
Some things about me are such a girl!

I spend more time in the bathroom than any girl finding every imperfection on my body.
(As young as I can remember I would always lock the bathroom door and look in the mirror wondering when my body would turn normal.

I have tried very hard to have nice breasts but I have never seen so many stretch marks!

I have stretch marks on both the top and the bottom of my breasts.

In addition most of the mass is above the nipples and they are not full.

I am very disappointed.  How could I have stretch marks if it took two years to grow them?
They are not going to set a speed record for growth.

Is there anything that can be done to reduce the stretch marks?

I also read that your breasts will have done most of their growth by two years.
Is this it?

Help.  Help.  I need some beauty secrets to reduce stretch marks!  Thanks.

/me has a bootie to boot LoL
the first time around HRT wise I had lots and lots of strechmarks down there....  the way around them is a combonation of good moisturisors reapplied frequently and Rettin<sp?> A applied topicly once a day... the Rettin is expensive in mexico and I havnt a clue as to what it costs purified in the US but it killed the strechmarks quite well... so long as they arestill red they can heal... if there white scar tissue or purple in color they are there for life allready......  hope there red and trust me on the rettin and the moisturisors.

Lynn the stretch marks are purple.  I do use a Retin-A formula to try and regrow some hair on top of my head.  I think it is too late (oh I guess I'm pregnant) but I will try.  Thanks.

Katia if Cindi had not posted a reply I almost believed you!  I am so gullible.  :icon_redface: I thought you had an ovary uterus transplant and I was interested in the details!   :)

...

Soo Katia I see you like to party.  I see the internet police coming to this thread.  The female hormones make me real chatty and I giggle and cry within a span of 10 minutes.  You got me.

Wendy, the coloring of the stretch marks will fade over time.
As a GG I have had three kids and as Brooke can attest I have horrible stretch marks on my tummy, very wide etc. Mainly because I had 2 of the 3 pregnancies mainly back to back. They have faded to regular skin color (they just seem shinier).
WRT to products...there are several you can try that you can get right at your local drug store. I personally swear by vitamin E oil but not lose oil in a bottle. Buy the capules, pin prick them and squeeze the vitamin E oil out of them and rub into the skin all around your breast and anywhere else HRT is adding mass/curves (hips, butt etc).
Unfortunately once you have developed stretch marks you can't really take them away, but you can prevent more as well as minimize what has already begun.
As LynnER said Retin-A is great however over the years they have discovered many side affects so check on that before you go gung ho on it.

Togetherwecan I looked in the mirror and my hips looked the same.  However I visually inspected my hips without a mirror and they have stretch marks too!  My arms and legs already have stretch marks from lifting weights in college.  My butt looks real small and I did not see any stretch marks.  I am sorry you have stretch marks all over your tummy!  I guess my tummy will be the only area that does not have stretch marks!

I measure myself every day and the numbers changed very little over two years.  (I have lost 1 inch from the chest and gained 1 inch in the hips.)  At that rate my hips should equal my chest in about twenty years.

Vitamin E tablets are inexpensive but they seem very small for such a large surface area.  Thanks!

You are very welcome!
Yes there is only a small amount of oil in the Vit E caps, but they are much more concentrated and you shouldn't need too many for each rub down and the affects are way better than just buying the oil. Vit E makes the skin more supple which allows your body to chage and the skin to stretch easier hence pre-empting further stretch marks.

I have stretch marks around my butt area and this was way before HRT.  I guess that's what I get for naturally having a big bootie.  I remember them itching whenever they started to stretch. :P

LOL!  :D  OMG that's so funny.  From your last pregnancy?  how many have you had?  chistosa! ;D

Hi Wendy:

There are many products out there which can help.  Palmer's cocoa butter works for some people.  Also the OTC creams Mederma and ZenMed - stretta are recommended by some pharmacists.  Additionally, there are two prescription creams which are often used for acne and wrinkles,  Retin A and Renova, but they have also been effective in removing stretch marks in some women.
