how many of you guys are fed up with the bureaucracy and want to just buy steroids and get started. i really wont do this as it comes with risks, a lot of them. sometimes i want to take a shortcut, and stop feeling stuck.
I feel like that too. I just want to hop right into it without needed recommendations though I understand why it would be needed. My worst fear is that I have to go through all these mental evaluations and therapist that my preferred surgeons die before they can operate on me. :(
Listen guys I know how frustrating it is, but do be aware that steroids are liver killers and rage drivers. Both of which are likely to impact on your life in a very bad way.

I would have done that before starting T if I had access to it. But it's not like you can just get it from the store or from your weed dealer. Accessing it was the problem for me, not potential side-effects. When desperation is a factor you'll take whatever you can get.
Thank the god that I don't believe in that I finally got it the legit way though.
Perhaps to try and help yourself prepare for T and feel a little less 'stuck', look up some ways to naturally boost your testosterone if you're not already. :)
Before I started T, I wondered if I ever would..
It didn't take me long after finding a therapist though. I was extremely lucky in finding someone as wonderful as I did. I would love to go back to her one day. I was her first trans patient as well, so don't be discouraged if you find someone that has never worked with a trans person before. Some are INTERESTED and WILLING to help you. You just have to look.
I would say first analyze WHY you aren't able to start Testosterone right now, and make a check list of ways to rectify each and every reason that is preventing you from accomplishing what you want.
I have no money. I'm dirt poor. I live off of 8,000 dollars a year total. For rent, food, bills, meds, etc. I'm broke. Surgery is a long step for me, but I'm doing what I can in the meantime..
Saving every dime that I can, working out for best chest results, and trying to get through school.

No job since I'm focusing on school currently

I live in a town of 10,000 people in Tennessee.. I didn't think there were resources either.
I travel 3 hours to a doc appointment, but you can always see if your mom might let you speak with a therapist.
I was so frustrated that I considered it. I can only imagine how hard it must be trying to get started so young. When I was that age, I had pretty much resigned myself to believe I'd never transition. It will happen for you, though - age just seems to work against young people.

I did actually talk to her about seeing a therapist but she swore up and down that I don't need one no matter how much I told her I did.
I remember a local news story from years ago, way before I transitioned. A local "woman"--I don't know how this person identified--had been injecting animal testosterone--dog T, I think it was (and, yes, I know that humans are animals; you know what I mean). I guess this person died, and the dog T was one of the curiosities discovered post-mortem.
I never forgot that story, obviously. I think that was before I knew anything about the transitional process or trans people generally. And I flirted with the idea from time to time.
