Title: MtF Diet?
Post by: tinkerbelle on February 11, 2012, 11:16:12 AM
Hi all!

I've recently began HRT, Estrodiol and Finasteride, orally.

As to get the most out of my treatment, I've been researching around on the best diet and regimen to promote growth and fat redistribution (best I could word that).

Other than the typical healthy foods, exercise and a proper amount of sleep, I haven't seem to have found a specific answer for my specific question.

Has anyone else reading stumbled upon certain foods or perhaps diets that may promote the path that HRT takes on the body?

I'm not a physician or what not, but I'd assume that the priority to help the growth comes from cell reproduction and blood flow as to aid all the growth and changes going on, whether it be from the dissipating muscle mass, to different fat migrations and all.

I'm 21, 5'9" and around 138 pounds if that makes any difference.

I'd love to brainstorm about this!

Hey Tinkerbell

I've been thinking about this too. I think you might need more fat then usual so your body has more to redistribute (If you're skinny like me)

Since the body is basically having a female puberty, I'd say you pretty much need what an adolescent girl needs, apart from the calcium for growth.

I'm pretty sure you will develop as your genetics dictate.

But you should try to have plenty of roughage, fruit, cereals, you will need to be regular.

Hi :)

That's a really good thought... I'll try to look up what's the best kind of fat if there is a best kind of fat to stock up on. :p

Hi!

So would that mean fruits, vegetables, complex carbs and such?

AVOID GRAPEFRUIT JUICE!    It interferes with the way the liver metabolises estrogen and can lead to very dangerously high levels of estrogen in the blood with consequently elevated risks of strokes, clots, hear attacks etc.

Transdermal estrogen via gel or patch largely bypasses this problem

I was just trying to figure not necessarily the fastest methods of physical transition from hormones but more or less getting the most bang for the buck out of the hormones by figuring out how diet may play a role in that effectiveness.

Thank you very much for that tip!

Is it a certain ingredient or something in grapefruit juice that does that to the estrogen?

I've eaten fast food every day since starting and my E levels are pretty freaking high (on dosage which I've read are "average"). I've heard that eating fiber will flush some excess away, but I haven't been eating fiber. My liver and kidneys both check out to be consistently normal.

I started illeagal mones when i was 18 and got fat as hell. I don't know from what but i was fat. Now back on mones prescribed by my endo with blood work to watch all my levels i'm good. I'm 5'11" 150 lbs 38c and i would like to think i have a good diet but i eat what i want. Alot has to do with your metabolism and how active you are. Everyone is different. I like to eat 4 or 5 small meals with a few snacks in between. My weekness is cookies ;D but i dont over do it, stay away from soda. I also heard that potassium is not a good thing either. Drink tons of water and milk!!!!! Excercise!!!! i do light weights i'm not trying to become big just tone, youll find muscle mass will be hard to  come by. Alot of walkining and jogging too will help!!!
