Title: MSP in BC
Post by: Tazia of the Omineca on February 12, 2012, 10:43:00 PM
So I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with the MSP in BC, or any MSP in general.
Since I've been trying to look up ways of getting SRS, and MSP seems to be a good choice.

It's just the hoops and stuff, nothing too bad, the usual, RLE, Therapists, and Psychologists stuff.
I'm just wondering if there might be coverage in BC for SRS for those that fit the criteria.
I want to get it done while I am still young (I'm 18 now) so I can sort of live life the way I feel inside.
The Government website isn't much help and I am slightly uncomfortable going to the BC Government office to ask where I could find out.
I have found a couple sites that talk about coverage via the MSP some places in Canada, but I'm wondering about like first-hand accouts.
If there are any that is. I would verily appreciate  any advice, or whatever the words are I am looking for here.

Please and thank you.

Here is the info on MSP from the website of the gender therapist I used to go to when I lived in BC:

http://www.drmeladypreece.com/TG_Resources_/Entries/2010/11/12_Applying_to_msp_%28BC%29_for_approval_for_surgery_.html (http://www.drmeladypreece.com/TG_Resources_/Entries/2010/11/12_Applying_to_msp_%28BC%29_for_approval_for_surgery_.html)

It should still be up to date. Basically, 1 year of documented RLE to be approved for SRS with Dr. Brassard in Montreal. You still have to pay for airfare and to stay in the aftercare facility, but the rest is covered.
