TransYouth Family Advocates, the group that produced the video "Out of the Shadows" (http://www.imatyfa.org/Imatyfa/Imatyfa.html), has sent me a copy of their first newsletter. Sadly, it's not on their website yet, and I don't have access to my website until this weekend...
But at the end of the newsletter, they had a feature titled:
THE DARK SIDE
QuoteThe Dark Side
TYFA shares this information in the belief that we can best advocate for our children and families if we remain aware and vigilant as to what those opposed to freedom of gender identity expression are saying about our children and their families.

"Radical homosexual groups like the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is also committed to helping Jenny and other "trans people" educate the public of their plight. GLAAD exists solely to normalize deviant behavior. Liberal groups like GLAAD are well funded by the Left and their goal is to undermine the institution of marriage."

"I want Matt Dillon back.
You remember him. He was the lawman in Dodge on the popular television show "Gunsmoke". I want that strong man whose relationship with the barkeeper, Kitty, was never a worry. He was always the gentleman, and she a lady (even though it was a saloon, we do live in a fallen world after all).
At least we didn't have to worry about sitting down with the kids and the popcorn only to witness Festus discover that he was really Felicia and that Ole doc's failure to accept him/her is actually some weird sounding phobia, or hate crime."

"I suggest, indeed, letting children who wish go to school in clothes of the opposite sex - but not counseling other children to not tease them or hurt their feelings. On the contrary, don't interfere, and let the other children ridicule the child who has lost that clear boundary between play-acting at home and the reality needs of the outside world. Maybe, in this way, the child will re-establish that necessary boundary.
It is a mistake for various interfering, ignorant and biased busybodies to try to 'counsel' the other children into accepting the abnormal. It is very healthy to be able to draw the line between what is healthy and what is sick."

Our Mission:
TransYouth Family Advocates is a coalition of parents, family, friends and caring adults dedicated to educating and raising public awareness regarding the issues facing children with gender variant and gender questioning identities and their families.
Our Vision:
Whenever children are able to express and articulate their gender identity, however young, they have a right to a caring atmosphere supporting that identity. This right will be honored by families, schools, counselors, the judicial system and medical personnel. Under no circumstances shall a child be removed from his/her family or custodial parent on the sole basis of that family or parent's support of their child's gender identity. Schools and daycare centers will train their staff in children's transgender issues and implement student-awareness classes. Every school/center will establish and vigorously enforce a ZERO tolerance policy for bullying specific to perceived or actual gender identity.

Wow.
It reassures me that these people are dying out. Out with the old and stubborn, in with the new and adaptable!
Dumbasses. They can't win.

I read these kinds of things in the Transgender News group on Yahoo. I agree that some of the things people say about us just makes me shake my head in disbelief.
The payoff for them, of course, is that they get to be, or at least feel, momentarily righteous and morally superior. And many others echo those things so they too, can belong to the righteous and moral few who are commissioned to "uphold God's (their) rules."
Their time will come. What goes around comes around. Always.

Sometimes principle is all a person has, but a kid doesn't always get a chance to exercise it. So to ask this of a kid or anyone without the power to do so is suicide. :( So I say, good luck trying to reach out to parents, but you better do it with tact and accept that the majority of them will not listen. This is the nature of things like this. :-/

I wish I had your positive outlook. I've already seen the new crop hate filled youngsters they've brought up and it scares me. They seem to be more predisposed to action where the older generation settled for name calling. But they're good christians. Just ask them.
Karen Lyn
Are you aware of how many lynchings that older generation performed? The youngsters you're talking about are a minority of ignorant, energetic kids who are going to learn the hard way that the world does not stand for hatred anymore. Just watch.

You can't change the mind of a looter. They just want to kill, beat, and steal. All you can do is avoid them or fight them.
Avoidance is better though, if you can without depriving your own self of life.

Marriage will always be here. If these folks are so concerned about marriage why not help those whose marriages are on the rocks. Look at the nearly 50% divorce rate in this country? Sadly it is the same rate among Christians as well.

If I remember correctly, the divorce rate is highest among baptists and evangelicals. The data seemed to indicate that the more conservative the religion, the higher their divorce rate.
