Title: questions about breasts
Post by: Erin H on February 15, 2012, 03:50:15 PM
So I have been on oestrogen for nearly 4 months now, and I have like literally zero breasts.

They are just 2 tiny tiny little lumps, you can only see them when you look at my chest from the side, their so small there not even moobs, I could walk around topless and no one would even bat an eyelid.

So i was wondering is the reason I have very little breast growth (the tiny amount which is there is only fat) because im very skinny, does that have anything to do with breast growth ?
My Doctor said it is also to do with genetics, my female relatives all have C cup and above and I have like nothing.  :/

Oh also random question but I was wondering what would happen if say I stopped taking oestrogen would the tiny fat deposits shrink ? Or just stay there ?

Thanks you :)

I'm told breasts grow at different rates for different people. Some get gazongas in the first few months, others have to wait for a couple-three years.

Be patient, grasshopper. You will get yours in due time.

I don't know of anyone in real life that grows humongous breasts in just a few months.

It takes a while for your system to even get used to being on female hormones and if your not on Spiro at the same time it could take longer.

Don't forget it takes genetic girls years to fully develope.

I have near permanently erect nipples after two months and some sensation of weight behind each 'breast'.

When I first started I wasn't sure what to expect and thought I'd just have little breast buds forever, but then I noticed that I'd get a bit more growth about every three months  :)

Now after a little over two years I have fairly good development and they seem to still be growing  :)

As mentioned, it takes time and everyone's results will vary  :)  It truly is a 'luck of the draw' kinda thing

4 months is not nearly enough time for substantial breast growth. It took me nearly 2 years to grow a 32A. I'm not too sure that weight has anything to do with how big your breasts will be. My cousin is suuuuuuuper skinny with triple D's. Anywho, you're definitely going to have to give it way more time.

Months?   Wow........ after 5 weeks I was really sore and had buds the size of half a golf ball under each nipple which made them really stand out.
Sadly, nearly 4 years later my breast growth is judged Tanner Stage 5 and completed....... and I am barely an A-cup.

I'm with VM on this one. I've been on female hormones since 1995 or 96 and just had buds for several years. Had an orchiectomy about ten years ago because I was tired of taking Spironolactone and anti-andogen. Several years later I witched to a different female hormone and got big growth. I just bought my sixth B-C cup soft bra. I'm 5' 7" and 170 pounds, a very fit but stocky type, I have a post-op trans girlfriend who is naturally a skinny type, she has smaller boobs although nice and perky and they didn't come overnight either, she looks good in her tops, she is built a lot like like you Salisha. Suffice it to say, you can't rush it!

Hey everyone

Thanks for the replies, I guess i should just wait and let nature take its course :)

Do you have breast buds? They are like a hard lump under each nipple and they are very sensitive to pressure and touch. If you are unsure if they are present then they are not there because when they ARE there you have no doubts. They #@~~$£# hurt.

If the buds are there then your breast growth has started. If not then the breast growth has not really got underway. It took me 3 or 4 months before my nipples became tender and then the buds appeared. Even when they appear you are facing another two or three years before growth is complete.

Patience....

Yes - they feel heavy and 'jiggly'. For me the buds appeared about a month after that.

Beverley

Hey Beverley
I don't think i do have any hard lumps under nipple, just an increase in fat in the breast area, if i push on the nipple there is a really tiny sort of hard lump, smaller than a pea, hardly even noticeable and does not hurt.

Thanks again everyone :)

I dont know if this applies to me or not, but i've been on Estradiol for 2 months and have definetly noticed growth in that department; I can also feel hard 'things' under the nipple that i've only just noticed!

I've always had an athletic, slim body so this is definetly new to me! I still occassionally play soccer so if they get any bigger i'll had to invest in a sports bar! Can't wait  ;D

4 months, really too soon! Are you on any t- blockers yet? It's too early to add any progesteron, usually prescribed after the 1 st year. It takes time hang in there. Im 4 years in on a leagal hrt and it's like a roller coaster ride. Finally seeing great resaults(38c). Along with a good diet and excercise you'll get there. Look at your mother and sibblings that will give you an ballpark idea of what to expect.

Oh goodness, the days of being careful to not let anything brush up against them  :o  When they do start to protrude more, be very careful opening doors

I doubt my UPS delivery driver has ever had someone yelp quite like that upon opening the door to accept a package

It's been 6 months and I'm almost close to being half an A cup.
If you have a really boney chest than hormones won't fill that in unfortunately v_v you have to gain weight for that to smooth out.
I'm trying to do that but gaining weight is very hard for me.

Protein shakes and ensure works well too. You can eat all the crap food you want and gain bad weight but it's very hard to lose. I'm bulimic and the ensure replunishes nutrients my body needs

It can take a while for breast growth to begin and though that is a important change for us, it is not the only one.Aren't you experiencing other changes due to HRT?

hey Bird

yeah your right about the breasts taking a while, I will just have to wait :)
There hasn't really been many other changes, I think my face is kinda same, maybe it was because i had very female face before so that's why i haven't seen much change.
My libido has decreased just a bit, I think m skin has become less oily and I don't have that man smell really any more.

I'm only on oestrogen as well, no anti-androgens. My Doctor likes to only do oestrogen first and see how it goes, when i got my blood work back my T levels have decreased to near female levels and my oestrogen has increased to female levels.

Oh i'm on transdermal oestrogen as well :)

Cool

It is fine if your doctor is taking things slowly. The slower approach means changes take longer, but it means you are safer as well. Some of the facial changes are harder to be regonized by you, because you see yourself every day on the mirror! They should add up though, given time.

I'd say, as the other girls said, 4 months still is a bit early on. Your body is just adjusting to the new hormones.

My left took a while to start growing, but my boobs are noticeable. People I cam with can see them and so can I, also stairs are now my nemisi.

LOL No. Like 7-9 dollars for 6.

I would get them prescribed since I am underweight and that would make them cheaper.

Some girls have lots of facial changes, others have a lot of breast growth. Sometimes you have a lot of breast growth early on and then it stops. Sometimes it takes a while for the changes to add up.

There is always a lot of things happening though.

MyKa,
Nice photo! Daily crunches and work on abs and lats is essential when you're on estrogen, otherwise the little fem tummy that comes from female hormones begins to become a problem. Ab and lat exercises creates a lot of nice definition below the breasts and accentuates them all the more. Most MtF's intrinsically have wider and thicker waist lines than their born counterparts, so anyone wanting to look good in their clothes needs to stay on top of it. I have worked hard at the gym for several years on this along with a low fat diet, and still the only resolution in sight to be totally rid of "love handles" is an eventual lipo job.

For every woman its different... we all react differently to the hormones.. even g-girls develop at different paces.

For me, I was lucky.. My chest reacted quickly to hormones pumping through my body.

14 months on HRT, and I have C cup breasts...

I love it when they giggle when I walk :)

I'm on day 80 of just spiro and estradiol, and I have a very significant amount of fat on my chest ;D

However, no breast buds as of yet, although, feeling a sort of void behind the nipple, and strangely I lactated once (to my knowledge) very early on, like day 20-25.

A feeling of weight is very apparent, and has been for some time now, but I did posess some fairly large pectoral muscles that have defiantly been reduced, possibly contributing to the feeling/look of growth of my breasticles. If I put on a slightly small(bust) B padded bra I fill the padded cup almost perfectly, and with growth staying on the same track, will fill the cup entirely in about 2-3 weeks = ) , but my mother, 1 sister, and niece, closest genetic relatives, have gigantic breasts so I think I will come out a head...and before you curse me for good genetics, even the females in my family have dark body(arm and leg) hair.

With hormones you win some, you lose some, apparently...I'm 22, so I assume the younger you start the closer you get to what you would have had, the key factor to me "rushing" HRT(Rx by an endo w/ a letter).

I was going to start a new thread about this, but this one is labeled as "questions about breasts", so here goes.

Anyone get "phantom" breast/nipple/chest pain?

Like when you are reminded about chests either seeing a woman's chest or seeing a guys chest start feeling the ache of new growth in yours. I have a feeling some of it my head, but to what extent I don't know.

Don't get me wrong my chest aches "for real" randomly(middle of the night, driving ect) but I think that there is some constant discomfort that your brain only let's through when you think about it...thoughts/experience?

BTW

Cyndi, I love how genuinely feminine you look, even/especially with all the muscles! Would just figure you were a super buff chicka.

I thought I'd throw in my two cents with all this talk of how boobs grow.  Here's my boob story: I was taking spiro and a DHT inhibitor for about a year before I started on estradiol.  The spiro was a low dose, just to keep maleness in check.  During that time, my boobs got very tender to the touch - my daughter accidentally elbowed me in the nipple once and it about sent me through the roof!  I never really noticed growth during this period, however.  Then for about two months, I decreased the spiro a bit.  Didn't notice any changes in the boob department.  Then I started full HRT.  So far, I have not had any pain or tenderness like when on antiandrogens alone.  The girls are certainly blossoming - I can fill out a padded B fine.  I'm confident that I'll hit a full B or maybe even a small C when second puberty is over.  The moral of the story - your girls are gunna do what they want to do and they won't tell you what's on their minds until they've done it. :)

Mtf transsexuals need to have a daily physical workout to keep the man-gut belly from outing you and having good definition. I've been on HRT since 1996 but quit half way through transition for family reasons and self identify as androgynous. Still I am always good for supportive and positive input for transitioners . I posted a body shot of me in a tank top for the sake of this thread. It takes a lot of work like Cyndi said!

Breast growth is always weird. Myself... I have been on hormones for fourteen months and have seen less than half a padded A bra in development so far. I might as well not have any - my pre-HRT girlfriend has bigger breasts (just fat in the area), and I didn't even get any of the pain or pleasurable sensation.

At least implants exist for the cosmetic part of it... shame about the sensation part though.

Jay loves them too.

Hi Kelly,
Judging from your photo you are fairly young and built on a petite frame as opposed to those like myself who are built like football fullbacks and are constantly working to keep it under control. Basic builds and genetics all play a big part in it. You haven't been on HRT very long yet, give it a chance! You might discuss it with your HRT provider and see if perhaps a different regimen might be in order. As for implants, you need to give it a long time first, do your homework and ask a lot of questions before going that route. One of the best plastic and reconstructive surgeons in my area often has an office full of women wanting implants and wide-eyed boyfriends more than willing to pay for a set of extra large rockets for them. This doctor tells them right up front that they might have to have them replaced within ten years. So Kelly, take your time and let things run their course and give us an update next year, my money is on you having an appreciable increase in breast size by then.

I think sometimes, we are victims of the same things cisgirls are, but we attribute it to our trans condition. That is, the current impossible to meet standards of beauty. Of course we are anxious to have our development, but just because we don't end up with two C cups and are given A cups doesn't means they aren't normal or good looking.

Esthetically we can use implants later, just like any woman would, but it is best to wait a few years for development.

I'm happy with mine so far, and I have been told even my tiny boobs look great on me. XD
Took about 2 1/2 months to grow them to even this size, and it's more than I was expecting. :)
Yeah it's kind of a hit and miss, but if you hit I'm sure it'll be fun. :)

Yes... eighteen, very petite and sort. I have no idea what my genes are... all I know is that if I were anything like my mom and sister I would want breast reduction surgery.

Four months to go before the 18-month mark where implants are supposed to be viable; though I doubt I will be able to afford it until my third year of hormones, long after my SRS in less than a year.

I don't see how a sudden rapid-growth phase is possible, to be honest. They say most of it happens in the first year for most TS... and well, I have had virtually nothing as I said. Unelievably disappointing. And unfortunately, I cannot go on any different regimen than what I'm currently on. Swallowed pills only, or else it isn't covered, and I could only do patches if I were willing to pay.

It would be great if you happen to be right, and I get that late-onset growth-spurt, but I haven't heard of it happening under a similar set of circumstances before.

Trying not to rant/complain/etc ^.^

You'll do just fine, take a deep breath and relax! I didn't want to give this out here, FYI I didn't start this until I was in my mid-fifties, I'll be seventy next year. I had nothing but buds until about a year and a half ago when I suddenly got a lot of growth after taking a two year hiatus from any hormones whatsoever. I have taken only oral medications myself. So the point here is that there are no rules set in concrete, my experience is testimony to that, what you hear from others are generalizations based on either their experience or some average figures that are bandied about. You will get breast growth when your body is ready sweetie, hang in there!

I beg to differ.  Mine is a cute girl tummy - even before hormones. :)  I am a mother, so I just call it my mama pooch and it's all good. :)

I'll bet it is a cute girl tummy!  :) A lot of the cis gals call it their "muffin top" and they aren't all that thrilled about it. Just the same, none of us will ever see a flat tummy like at age sixteen again.
