After a week without phone or running water.
3 weeks without power.
and over a month without highspeed cable modem.
I am finally back due to being hit by Katrina.
I was 90 miles north of the coast, the eye of the hurricane went right through us.
Feels good to be back online. Makes things more normal again.
Great to here you survived Katrina it must have been terrifying.

Hey there Lendra
I was wondering where you had got to. I hope everything is OK for you and you are safe. I can't imagine going through something like that, it's mind numbing. So welcome back Kendra
Chat later,
Steph

Are you still running that guild in EQ2?

Kendra, I know this is a late reply of this thread but I was just curious. Back in '99, I lived in Hattiesburg and was wondering if that's close to where you were. Also, I was in Picayune, which is about 30 miles from the coast -during- Katrina. I saw how bad the devastation was in the Hattiesburg area as I was evacuating. Glad to hear your okay. I have only met a couple of people that are survivors even though plenty of folks evacuated to my home town (I don't get out much anymore) Hopefully I will get to go back to Mississippi soon.
Yes in west Hattiesburg. I havent been back to the coast since then but see plenty of people from down there come to our store. Our store right now is the only big book store open in south Mississippi right now so everyone comes to it.(from in about a 200 mile radius).
Right now we just got our roof replaced few weeks ago (insurance which we didnt know we had, finally arrived). Most of our fallen trees have been taken away by some agency or something, so all that remains now is the torn up landscaping, a few stumps and non tree debri.
We just need to fix the interior water damage and the back deck (which is gone).
Small world. I lived in Hattiesburg from '99 to '01. I worked at WHLT 22 until our news was cancelled. If you lived there during that time then maybe you remember Rex Thompson, our weather forecaster. He and I were roommates (sometimes more hehe :) ) then and when I lived in Picayune during Katrina.
I came here to Hattiesburg in the summer of 2003 so didnt see that news. My GF knows him though and was suprised when I told her the name.
Yes small world.
