Title: It's way too early for my voice to start to change?
Post by: BMXJake on February 28, 2012, 02:55:24 PM
So my T day was exactly a week ago.

My changes are a bit different than what I've seen from others- like I'm more tired than usual (it was especially so the first few days after my shot) or like I can now just sleep more, where I'd get restless after being in bed for a while, and like I had some acne (I think from the oil in the shot) right after my shot but now my skin is more dry than usual (and I have been drinking more water than ever).

But anyway, starting yesterday morning my voice has been froggy. Like it sounds like you would when you're coming down with something, like raspy is a better word. But I feel completely fine, I'm not sick at all. I also have tightness in my throat, almost like you can get when you get really upset.  It's worse today than it was yesterday, I don't know what's up- I really didn't expect anything like this until at least a month.

Anyone else feel this around this time too? or similar experience?

Thanks

I've seen a few guys around who said that they were having similar experiences very early on. I didn't, but I did turn into a raging sex maniac on the morning of the fifth day.

It was wonderful and terrible to behold.

Guess that you just got lucky with genetics. It is possible and does happen to some people within the first week or so.

I know a guy whose voice noticeably changed within the first week and continued to change at the same rate for about 6 months. I also know a guy whose voice barely changed at all within the first 6 months. So there's a lot of variance.

Yeah I'm starting to think it might be genetics, too. I noticed that the "peach fuzz" I have is a little thicker already (just a tiny bit) but blonde. Although my sex drive is still the same- which is almost non-existent, hahaha.

I guess a major thing I was wondering is did you guys experience similar, I guess "symptoms", when your voice changed?

With me the voice changes didn't come as early as what you're describing but yes, I sounded as if I was getting sick - several people even asked if I was sick.

I didn't& am still not experiencing any tightness though (currently day 82 since starting T).

*Raises hand *
I've been on t for 2weeks tomorrow, and I got it like you, by the third day it felt like I had someone lodged in my throat and I kept having to like clear it, anyway I had a small drop, and like two days ago I was singing in the bath, and I got another drop, there wasn't a lead up to the second one, but yeah, now it feels like I have a small planet in my throat, I'm noticbly deeper, like at the bottom of female range now, so I'm hoping my next break will be a big one that will drop me into camp male range :)

I on the other hand have super oily skin now :( but I am getting super dark hairs on my chin and a bit of a pubestache,on my lip, so it's going fairly quickly for me too :)

Edit: I got shark week 3 weeks early though, I was really pissed, about it, I guess I should ask my doctor when I see her next so I can stop panicking about it

Excuse my typing crapness, I fail at ipad

I've been on e blockers for just over two weeks and I've had the same thing happen, and I'm not even on T, my blood work showed I had a high natural T level for a "female" though so by removing the estrogen I've given it free reign in my system I figure :D

I thought I was just coming down with something at first, my throat was really sore and I felt like I really needed to cough something up but nothing was there. The soreness isn't so bad now and my voice has most definitely dropped. I'm no Barry White but it's definitely noticeable....I pass over xbox live now xD yippee!

While my voice changes took about three months, instead of just one week,
Yeah, my voice was froggy for a week or two before it began to crack - and when it cracked, it was AWFUL.
I also experienced the tightness in my throat too, so that was pretty normal for me.
Just remember that every guy adapts to T differently, and just be prepared to spend A LOT on acne medication if pimples bother you.
