My Dad is a Woman, a new documentary for ITV1, explores the emotional trials and tribulations when the man of the house decides to change sex.

With intimate access to two families, this documentary from Wild Pictures, makers of the acclaimed ITV1 documentaries Strangeways and Fraud Squad, follows the dilemmas two transwomen face as they take the ultimate step to change their lives forever.

Thanks for the "heads up."  But I don't think I can get that station here in southern California, even as pay-per-view.  :(

For a second I thought your Dad had even managed to get on TV.  ;D
I will look for it when it is on ABC or SBS TV here.

My Dad Is A Woman ITV1

"IT'S a big thing to do, to have bits of you cut off," said Jane. I'll not mention which part was removed. That'd be infringing on the privacy of the woman previously known as John, a 53-year-old Oxbridge educated consultant.

"Particularly if you're a bloke," she added, "because society tells you that you don't have that bit cut off."

No, that's why there's always a picture with a cross through it on a box of secateurs.

My Dad Is A Woman examined the emotional fallout of the man of the house's decision to change sex – what's it like for their partner, when do they tell the children, and who's going to put the bins out now?

The title had the sensational edge of a low-brow chat show, but My Dad is a Woman proved to be a sensitive, down-to-earth and rather fascinating documentary about what really happens when the man of the house changes sex.

We were given intimate access to the personal stories of Michelle and Jane, men living as women and just two of Britain' estimated 6,000 transsexuals.
