Hey all,
Have not posted here in a long time. I just hit my 6 months on T and lately have had really painful/itchy spots. Any ideas? I have tried a few things like oxy/body scrubs. Working out has become a pain; because sweating makes my back itch so much :-\ any suggestions will be very much appreciated :)
Hmmm...I would need to see pics. Are you drinking a lot of water?
Hey Nygeel,
My wife took some pics to show me, but my camera doesn't pick them up so well :( and yes I drink lots of water :)
Some guys have a rash-like reaction to T as their skin begins to change and hair follicles are stimulated. Are the spots tiny like chicken pox, clustered or like blisters? Or are these more like patches that are scaly and raised? Do they only occur on one part of your body? Have you changed soaps, lotions or shampoos recently?
The ones on my back are similar to chicken pox small and in clusters. I do get a few scattered around the rest of my body. But, it's my back that's bothering me especially if I sweat and wearing a binder seems to make them a lot worse. I have tried to minimise the time I wear it tho :(
sorry forgot to add...no change in shampoo or washing powder, my wife has bought the same one for years :-\
Are you on injections for T? Some dudes have an allergic reaction to the oils used to preserve it, I think. Also, do you have any known allergies to certain foods or clothing products(I guess things like latex, really)? Food allergies and the like can develop over time. Do you sweat a lot without release for the stuff that's forced out of the body when sweating? I work out a lot, and sometimes my binder prevents necessary dirt/grime/toxins from getting wiped away immediately and I will get little itchy bumps or patches if I don't cleanse that area.
I get bumps like that from being sweaty. Someone explained why it happens to me before, but I've forgotten exactly what that explanation was. I usually get them on my elbows and knees when I've gotten particularly sweaty after working out. Do you only have these bumps when you are sweaty, and then they go away?
Hard to know without seeing it.
I started having trouble with my binder after I started T. It was before the weight gain so it wasn't tightness. I had a rash all over my chest that only hurt and itched (mostly hurt) when I exercised or got sweaty, which was often. I tried hydrocortisone, coal tar, salicylic acid body wash, not sure what else. Finally I started only wearing the binder with a shirt under it. That's not the most comfortable solution in the world, especially when it's not cold outside, but when I started doing that my rash gradually cleared up.
None of it happened before T, so I wondered if it changed the ph of my sweat or something. I'm not sure how to deal with summer. I guess I'll wear a wife beater under the binder. Or something. Luck to you.
Thanks for all your replies :) the spots don't disappear....sweating, bathing and wearing my binder makes them worse :(. I have got an appointment next week with the doctor for my 6 month check up. I will try another camera to see if they will show up and will update on what the doctor says :)
Kai :)
Sorry forgot to add that I don't have any known allergies and I'm on testogel
