QuoteLARGO, Fla. (AP) -- One of five commissioners who voted to fire a transsexual city manager said his management style, not his lifestyle, led to the dismissal.

P.S. people don't get it, do they? they try to be "supportive" but call transsexualism a
life style ::) ::) >:(
Tink, the vast majority of these people have a pre-schoolers education about transsexualism, maybe not even that much. They will never get it until they get educated.

And yet Stanton had nothing but high marks in all his reviews from everything that I've read. I have no doubt he was a difficult person to work for. That's just the sort of manager that Largo wanted. They wanted results. Not happy, touchy, feel good huggie bears.
This commissioner would do well to keep her mouth shut to prevent legal action.

Said ala the late, great Fred Rogers (of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood fame.)Can you say
pretext?
I knew ya' could!
I like the way you say that :D

I would like very much to see a very large judgment won against the city of Largo. The loss of real money, as well as jobs for some cushy politicos, may be just the impetus Largo needs to see that acceptance of diversity is right and proper.

"I like his style - tough, uncompromising - a real manager. And look what he's done to improve this town! He really knows how to get the job done. I vote to give him a raise!"
3 days later . . .
sotto voce (he's gonna do WHAT?) - Loudly: "He's such a bully! His management style is way too harsh. Fire him!"
(made up quotes of a prejudiced politician)
But no, there's no discrimination here! >:(
A large judgment would hurt too many of the fine Largo residents that came out to support Stanton during this whole affair, imo. I would LOVE to see 5 out of 7 of Largo's commissioners thrown out at the next election, though. That's the only thing that would redeem that town in my eyes.

I think the next election will be very interesting. i don't think many of those elected officials will be pointing to their vote on this with pride during the upcoming campaigns
