Computers cause terrible eye-strain, they(manufacturers) don't even bother to deny it.

I have the floaters.  My optometrist gives me a glacoma screen yearly because of that.

I have to disagree, I work around the computer most of the day and don't have any eyesight/headache problems. Good lighting is also important.

In the old days (CRT monitor) this was an issue because of refresh rates that weren't high enough (the Apple IIGS has 15 hz refresh rate and for a while 59 hz was the norm even though often monitors underperformed) until 75 hz became the norm.

Thanx a lot. Never caused me a problem. Just a curiosity mostly, but now that I know what they are, I will probably notice them more and be more self-conscious of them. :) I'd always assumed they were just specks of dust that had landed in my eye or something. Now I know they're IN my eye. Ignorance is bliss.

Lol btw that wiki page informed me of the existence of ocular herpes. I'm just gonna repeat that. Ocular herpes. My gosh.

Floaters that look like dust specks or stray hairs are one thing, but if you see something like chunks of marmalade, get to Hospital IMMEDIATELY, as it is a detaching Retina!

It can be quickly and easily fixed if dealt with straight away. Otherwise blindness will follow.
