And I am nervous as hell :P.
How was your very first time going out clubbing? or just going out in public in general?
It is a few other MTFs that insisted that I should join them when going out partying. I am really happy that I have found friends that likes me for who I am and also WANT me to be with them. Before I always had to call and ask people by myself otherwise they would simply forget about me.
But I cannot deny that I am really nervous and a little scared too. Mostly because I am very aware of my flaws =/. Also it is this clothing problem :P, I have tried on like 100 different sets now and is more clueless now then I was before trying them on. But I will go to the town tomorrow and shop for some new clothes and shoes :).
Wish me luck because I will need it :)
I recently went out for the first time en femme with a couple of friends to a bar. The first hour was terrifying, and then once i realized that no one was staring at me i relaxed and started having fun. After an hour and a half i almost forgot that i was out en femme.... it felt so natural.
My advice is to try to relax, dress age appropriately, and remember the safety rules for women. It'll be a special experience that you'll never forget.
My first time clubbing was to a gay bar, I was incredibly nervous but after a few drinks I just kinda relaxed. I did find that I was getting stared at *a lot* which was really disconcerting. Eventually a friend of mine just went right up to one of the groups that were staring and asked them why and it was because they couldn't figure out if I was natal or not, it really made my night (I'd only been on hormones a few months at that stage).
Thanks for the replies :).
By the way it went super :DDD. Was at a place where only lesbian girls is allowed and got many lovely comments from the girls inside :). One girl even wanted to take me home *lol*.
It feels so good to have taken that big step :). I cant wait until next time.
Girl, you are gorgeous and I'm glad you had fun. I only socialize as a girl now. I wouldn't have it any other way. In my case, I get hit on by both genders. But I love it when women compliment me because they know how hard it is to look fabulous anyways.
Monica.
My first time was in 1984 which is a long time ago now! it was liberating!

Yes it feels so good to hear positive comments about yourself from people that can look at you from every angle =) and we girls just love to be seen dont we ;).
I understand you completely btw, I am sure that I will never go out as a guy again after this experience. I had so much more fun now as a girl than I ever had as a guy, I mean before I had to drink tons just to approach the dancefloor but this time when I went out as a girl i barely drank anything but still i danced and laughed like mad. And the funny thing is that I did not even know that I had it in me :D.

Wow I was only 1year old back then :D. You are living full time now?
It was very liberating indeed. It feels so much better now when I have other people like me to hang out with because finally I can talk to people who truly knows what I am going through.
I felt a bit scared when we was about to get on the metro (expected alot of weird looks from people) but no :D. People looked yes, but they just took a quick glance and then that was it.
God I want to do it again :P.
I must say that the first time I did it, I didn't feel liberated, because any such feeling was completely dwarfed by the "omg I'm so scared" feeling ;D ;D
I had very little confidence as well in passing. It took me many months of going out as a girl to convince myself people just treat me like any other girl, and that's when I really felt liberated.

The eternal dilemma of not having anything to wear!!
Even if it doesn't go anywhere it is great to have a woman tell you she thinks you are hot. :)
Somehow it conveys more acceptance than if it was a guy. Maybe because we are more scared of rejection by Lesbians because of the genitalia question.
Glad you had a great time. I was at a Lesbian and Gay club on Saturday night and love the way younger people can be more open now.
Karen.
Congrats Hon,
It was funny I went back to a bar last night to meet a couple, I hadn't been to the place in years. It was the first place I went as a woman. I was terrified. I remember the person I met holding my hands to stop me shaking.
I went back last night to the same place to meet my friends. OK I'm out now but it was the first place and I was wondering I how I would feel. The first time I cruised around in my car until I spotted the person I was meeting. Geez, people were looking at this dork in a dress with crap makeup and I knew it.
No one gave me any flack though.
Last night I parked got out walked down the street checked out some shops went to the bar ordered a drink. The staff didn't bat an eye lid. It was just so different to a few years ago. Time flies.
Confidence darling is everything.
Have a great life.
It is yours to live.
Cindy

It is a great feeling, to be yourself so openly. I am glad you relaxed and enjoyed it.
B.
There was no first time for me.
I was always very feminine, I wore a ton of lip gloss and plucked my brows. I also had an affinity for more feminine clothes.

I was in my early 20's back then! and yes I've been full time for many years!
Carolina...I am SO SO envious of you!!
I would love to have a couple mtf friends help me with a little makeover before a big nite on the town!
The clothes thing I can do real well, its the makeup and hair that I would need some "sisterly help" with ;)
If I may ask are you in a larger city or a smaller suburban town?
I am quite close to San Francisco and really would like to go "out & about" there, I'm sure my comfort level would be just fine in girl mode :)
I don't know how many of us here on Susan's are in the SF Bay Area, but I live on the Peninsula in San Mateo. I'm not much of a makeup artist (I don't know how to contour), but I'd be willing to try to meet up with you if you're in this area.
PM me, if you like.
I am so jealous. I can't wait to be able to make a post like this.
So happy for you.

Yeah it is really a great help to have others around me that goes through the same thing :).
I live on a small island in Sweden, all my friends are on the mainland (Stockholm) so I have to go there to meet them but its no big deal as it only takes 30minutes by plane. When I am home all I can see is trees and farmland ;).
San Fransisco must be a really good place to start going out? at least if what I have heard is correct :).
And regarding the makeup thing. It is really fun to do it together with friends :), there is always something you can learn and something that you can learn your friends.
I loved it and I bet you will too :).
I went out as my true self today and some one bumped into me at a crosswalk and I was like HEY JERK FACE
then i felt bad about it lol, whatever
I went to a gay club. Got clocked lots but some stranger paid my way in and bought me a drink, lol! Everyone that talked to me said "YOU LOOK EXACTLY LIKE A GIRL! YOU ARE SO PRETTY!"
Well.. before that I went to Walmart and did some shopping. Nobody said an awkward word to me, or even looked at me funny.
Carolina1983 I just wanted to say that your really pretty!!! :D
