Title: Feeling let down
Post by: Diane Elizabeth on March 30, 2012, 10:44:06 PM
I have been on HRT since Aug 2010.  I had some initial growth of the breast area.  But for the past year I have felt that there hasn't been any change in me from the HRT I am on.  I know that for us older gals there will be less changed than the younger ones, but I question myself at times that I am wasting my money on HRT that doesn't seem to do anything.  Very frustrating.

Are you seeing any other beneficial effects from the HRT?  Without stating dosages, what are you taking?

Well.. is breast growth the only thing you're taking it for?

I am on the estrogen patch and spiro.  I was hoping for some changes in the skin , and with the mind, and some reduction in the fat gut that I have, such as a redistribution of the fat.  A change in the thickness of my hair would have been nice.   Besides some breast growth, I am more sensitive  to electrolysis (its too painful).  No noticable changes anywhere else.  So if the estrgen isn't going to do anything for me then why take it.  Oh, and I do cry more while watching a movie.

Have you had your hormone levels checked? Maybe your testosterone levels are a bit high still.

It took more than two years for most of my changes to really take place, especially the hair and what its done for my face overall.

I had to add finisteride and rogaine to really get my hair going well though and I had a serious bald spot before I started hrt.

And ditto on the previous post about your hormone levels being checked.
