i remember when i was a kid my mum was asked to look after my neighbours budgie.. on the morning of the day my neighbour was due back my mum and i took the budgie back round to our neighbours. as we opened the door the cage door somehow got opened and the budgie escaped. i was somehow kinda glad but my mums demeanour intruiged me. i asked her,"what will happen to the budgie?", and she said, "the other birds'll kill it.". i asked,"why?" and he said,"because its too colourful." somehow poignant
I'm a thundering moron...what's a budgie?

Very poignant!!!!
Both in your happiness in giving the budgie its freedom to fly and your mothers statement concerning its possible fate.
Great story, Thank you for sharing.
