Hi, i am getting toward the end of my 2 years RLE i have been out living as a female for 3 years, but i feel scared of the op, i will go ahead with it as it is what i want and need, but is it ok to feel scared, i have a phobia when it comes to needles and hospitals any ideas how i should address this as the gender clinic think i may pull out at the last min x
It's normal to feel scared of ANY op - so long you not scared of being a female also in your sex assignment.
That might be something else, and no one, nobody, aught to know better what it is you are scared of.
BA e.g. is ~reversible, SRS is not, but then you know that.

Having worked in the Pathology Lab of a large regional hospital for nearly 10 years, I am probably over-concerned about the risks of surgery of any kind. I am also extremely needle phobic too. Still I will go ahead with SRS unless something unforeseen stops me proceeding.
Realistically though, I am more concerned with the difficulties of coping with life immediately post-op though. I should be able to call on a couple of friends to help if needed though, and will probably stay in a hotel in the vicinity of the hospital for a few days after release, rather than flying back home immediately.
