Title: Shoe lifts!
Post by: Andy on April 14, 2012, 03:53:31 PM
OK, so I order almost everything that comes down the pike, and I had to order the "bendy buddy" that was discussed on here a few weeks ago just for fun! (Jury's still out on that since I've only seen the gf once since I got it--will know more later.) BUT!! Just for fun while I was ordering on the LoveBoat site, I ordered the shoe lifts they sell.

Now, height was never my particular area of dysphoria, but since I got them anyway, they are really fun! (And cheap!) It's hard to find shoes they will fit into without having your feet come out of your shoes, but since I have absurdly small feet (well documented on here), I do have a couple of pairs of shoes--boots, actually--that are so big on me, there is plenty of room for the lifts.

Once you figure out which shoes you can use them with, they are actually quite comfortable and quite a scream to wear! I highly recommend them to anyone who is height-challenged. They really do make me into a more imposing figure (!). They make your clothes hang better as well, and one pair of pants I won't need to have hemmed now, since they make them the correct length. They have a sort of slenderizing effect too, and I'm sure they will help with the passing factor. (Just have to remember to aim better if you are STPing--you are so much further up over the toilet! LOL) And, you will see dust on stuff you normally are too low to notice!

So, for just buying them for a goof, I'm actually really happy with them.  :D

I hate taking them off, it's such a let down.  ;D

I used to wear TOTO shoes (from tallmenshoes.com) for an added 2.8 inches.  I still wear them occasionally whenever I'm feeling kind of down.  Love(d) them, but I've become more comfortable with my height over time.  Still, being almost 5'6" was nice.  Hurts after a while though.  It's basically like wearing heels which is something I never did.

I'm sure the individual lifts are cheaper and probably more comfortable since they don't get as high.  Glad you like them :)

Hah it's great that you like wearing them so much. I'd love to try them myself.

Just think I'd feel awkward about it towards people I know though.. ;)

Lolyay. I've always wanted to try that. I'm already close to 5'7" though so height hasn't really been a pressing issue.

Back in the dim, dark 70's  a lot of guys wore platform shoes.  Especially the shorter ones.  They loved Disco for that!
