Hey girls I am wondering if somehow I did my second injection wrong by some chance? My doctor prescribed me injections of estradiol cypionate to do once a week and to increase until I feel my brain fog that I have been living with since my SRS surgery dissipate. So, the first night I injected myself, I instantly felt the estrogen surge through my body and my brain and I felt alot better the whole week and there was one night I felt the brain fog lift for a few hours! I then waited a week and did my second injection last night with a twice stronger dosage that my doctor approved. I did it in the exact spot on the opposite thigh, but I didnt feel the same surge of estrogen feeling the second time and I woke up this morning and I dont feel any different today than I did yesterday before I injected myself. I did have intense dreams last night though but I dont feel any better now about the brain fog situation ugh! Is this normal? If it helps, I feel like I did the second shot a lot better directly into the muscle and it was virtually painless. My first shot left my thigh sore for 3 days but this one isnt sore at all. Is that good or bad? Is it possible I did it wrong or something and thus wont absorb? Or do I just need to give it more time to release into my blood stream?
It may well be that if the medication had such an effect the first time that your E levels are still elevated when you do the second shot. So subjectively you may not experience the same degree of difference. Sort of like how you get a nicotine rush when you first smoke a cigarette but after a while you feel almost nothing no matter how many you smoke. Or to use a non-cancer educing analogy, how some anti-depressants can initially make you feel more depressed but over time make you feel better.
I wouldn't worry about you having missed the muscle. If you did it deep enough it's unlikely, but even if you did, it will still result in increased estrogen in your body, your body will still absorb it, it just may result in different release rates over different periods of time. Just try better next time if you felt you did something wrong, and/or consult your doctor.
Hope this helps.

What you said about the sensations of feeling the estrogen through your body and feeling great is very true.
I felt exactly the same the first week on injections.
But I noticed as I kept doing them, I was doing them correctly but those rushes all stopped.
It's most likely just your body getting used to it by now.
or the feelings you got from your first injection also could have been a simple placebo effect. :P
Don't worry, I'm sure you did your shot fine.
You felt the first shot because it was the FIRST. The next these wasn't the surge of estrogen, just a increase.
I have been on E for years. The shots just maintain the level.
