So, here I am up at midnight b/c I have a horrible tooth ache....I have been having progressive problems for a week now.
My problem is .... I legally changed my name two weeks ago ... sent in a request for a variance on my driver's license to get my gender marker and my name changed --- I haven't gotten it back. My insurance is all under my legally changed name -- but I have no ID to prove. I could go in with my name change documentation but I don't want to out myself as transgender to a new dentist. I just want to go in as Robert and not even mess with outting myself.
I hope tomorrow the documents come!
As someone with scads of dental issues myself, you definitely have my deepest sympathies. I've found that Anbesol (Benzocaine) really helps get me through until I can see the dentist.
I hope you get your ID real soon now.
I always wondered about that - wouldn't they want to access your previous dental records? or do you just start over?
I am going to start over. I was previously on my wife's dental insurance but now I am on my job's insurance - so I figure it would be a good time to start
Waiting does suck. I have no insurance and no money and I'm a full time student who can't even begin to think about transition. :( I'm still waiting to be a boy and not just an ugly girl.
I hope it gets worked out soon. Dentists are comparatively easy to pass with, and they tend not to expect any records anyway so starting over should be okay.
