Well, I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Aubrey, I'm a 42 Y/O MTF transsexual. Usual story, known since I was 4, burried it deep inside, blah blah blah. I'm a lot of things.... a paramedic / firefighter for 21 years, an actor appearing on TV, commercials, and independent film, an award winning writer/director, and most recently a spiritual teacher. I've actually been teaching for a few years, and a lot of that I've used towards undoing the mental blocks I've instilled upon myself. It's worked well! Been on hormones for over a year, came out at the fire department a year ago, and much to my dismay, everyone has been wonderful! Been blessed enough not to lose a single friend or family member, but that is a beautiful testament to the people I choose to keep in my life.
I'm currently working with a voice coach (as I've got a very male voice, for now... ), have FFS scheduled for August, and have my name change in the court system, and my letter to change my gender marker on my passport and DL.
I've actually have never really been too involved in the community where I live, as a lot of the "support" groups were more catty than helpful, and there was much more "opinion", than support going on. Although I want to use what I've been through as a teaching tool for those who are going through similar things, and also learn from those who have gone through the things I will be going through in the future. This seems like a place to do both!
Spiritually, I feel incredibly blessed to be both the yin and yang, the male and female, and am looking forward to starting the life I imagined I'd have when I was 4. I've worked through the fear part... although I'm still a little scared on what's to come, mostly because of the unknown of it, I do not fear any longer. Suddenly, the realization of me still being me, just a different form made complete sense, and a tremendous sense of peace.
That's about it for me. I've had a great time looking around, posting, talking, and meeting new people through the posts and the private messages. I don't know what the future holds, but I do know that no matter what, i'm surrounded by extremely beautiful, positive people, and finding my spiritual grounding as a woman, have been reflecting that back. I love it when a plan comes together!
