If anyone has read the "What Are You Thinking Now?" or the "What Made You Unhappy Today?" threads then you'll know that there was recently a rather bad troll that appeared on several sites I belong to.
The troll targeted LGBT people at first before targeting black people. To the LGBT people they sent out messages about a rehab in Florida to "help" people, and to everyone they sent out racist pages calling people derogatory names. They reverted to racism when they were banned for their messages to the LGBT community.
If a person tried to contact them about the rehab (we had one of our staff on the forums do that), the person would receive a message saying that they should die or that they should kill themselves or that they were freaks. The messages were extremely hurtful and they were bad enough that they could have pushed someone over the edge.
The troll has been dealt with and we have no had any more activity from their end, but this person is also known to wait for an opportunity to strike out at someone.
Because of this troll I am creating a FAQ for the LGBT+ members of the community. I would like it to include information on what exactly the community is about, what transgender is, etc. I would also like it to include links to helpful places such as Susan's and suicide hotlines.
My issue is that I'm not certain which transgender and other LGB sites would be helpful for this FAQ. All of your help would be very much welcome.
I'm trying to prevent someone from going over the edge because they were unlucky enough to get picked on by a nasty troll along with just providing general information for those who are curious.
