Title: No new estrogen prescription
Post by: kathy bottoms on June 05, 2012, 04:09:53 PM
I had another appointment today and the doctor won't do a prescription for awhile.  I kind of expectd it, but was so nervous this morning that I can't blame the doctor.   After all she listened and tried to help.  But it hurts, and I want to cry.  More tests tomorrow.

My god it hurts.  And damn it, sadness and crying really sucks.

Hey Kathy -

Life's been throwing things in the way of my prescription too.  But I know it'll happen for me, and I'm betting it'll happen for you too. :)

Thanks.  Things do improve with time, but I just felt so good for a month or so.  Feeling a bit better now, so it's time to cook dinner.

Hey, Kathy, it's okay.

Because of my my heart problem, I've been off E and AA's since March 14.  I was climbing the walls.  I have my endo appt later in the week.

Fingers crossed, for both of us.

I thought this problem usually happens in the U.K where they stall your prescriptions? not the USA?

Happens if they don't like your pathology read outs as well.

Got all the test results, and everything except estradiol is in normal range.  And the estradiol is just slightly elevated because I was on such a low dose.  Testosterone test is Monday and after that I can start discussing this with my doctor and the Endo Dr.  So with my old health issues no longer a problem, I'm healthy.  Well, except for age, arthritis and weight, so this should work in my favor.

I don't want to be snowed by them, and because I'm overweight I need to do research to find out what good serum estradiol levels are.  So it's Google time while I have my coffee.

Decided to drive to Vegas instead of going to Tahoe.  It's nice here.

Curious....why would your estrogen be elevated because you were on a LOW dose?????

The elevated level is only my assumption from the test results that the lab sent by email.  It is 65 with a normal range of less than 50.  Is this about what it should be?  The doctor hasn't said anything yet.

My prayers are with you kathyb. The first time I went for hormones the doctor was a real ass. This threw me into a major downwards spiral that made for rather catastrophic episode that landed me in a mental health ward for 24 hours. Talk to your therapist and see if they would help. Also make sure any blood test you had doesn`t show an anomaly that may interfere with the hormones or other meds you may need or are taking. May best wishes are with you and may this resolve itself soon. Stay the course girl and God bless you.
