Title: T Cypionate & weight gain ?
Post by: nocar on June 09, 2012, 08:09:46 AM
HI guys I'm new here-I love these boards!

SO my question is this: how many of you have experienced weight gain on T injections? I've been on Testosterone Cypionate for 2 years now. My doctor and I have tried every possible dosage in order to get me to a place in which I'm not packing on the pounds....I don't mean muscle either; I mean FAT (although I have gained some good muscle too which is good)!

I've always been in good shape--having this big fat gut is killing me.

Thanks in advance for your replies!

I didn't experience weight gain, but I did experience a weight shift.

On T fat mass will redistribute from the hips and breast will shift to the gut. Are you sure you're gaining fat and that it doesn't just look that way since it's easier to see the gut?

When I started T I thought I was in relativity decent shape, my friends commented on my having a large butt and thighs, but I didn't think much of it. On T I started gaining a gut like crazy. For the first time I started working out, mixing strength and cardio. This helped to get rid of the fat that was always there with the added bonus of increasing muscle mass, particularly in the upper body.

Nocar I've been on it for 6 months and I've had the same experience. I used to be skinny, and I'm happy with the muscle I've gained, but I have a brand-new gut and love handles too. I've not yet played with different dosages. Lol it's so new to me I mostly just use the opportunity to pretend that I'm a golden buddha or that my belly is a bongo drum. :D

My experience isn't as bad, but I've also sort of had this experience meanwhile having a similar body shape to Felix. I don't know why - maybe it's because I was eating more and working out constantly, but wasn't eating exactly the right things. I've been able to work some of it off more recently, but I've also switched over to testosterone enanthate since then.

Jason, have you had better luck after having switched to ethanate?

Well, yes, but like I said, I've also kept a closer eye on my diet as I'm building my diet - and I started to do so shortly before that time.
The weight gain in my abdominal area is not the main reason I switched; it's actually because I speculated that I may have been having some sort of reaction to the cotton seed oil and that it was exacerbating how bad my skin was at the time.
